Hi Hayley, Welcome aboard. The pacemaker club is a great place. Much info and many friends here. My name is Roch (like the little town on the south Wales coast... been there) I live in Southern California and had my pacemaker put in last week. My daughter lives in courtneueth (phonetic spelling... Welsh is not in me)She in married to a doctor who works in one of the hospitols near you, I'll have to ask her which one again.
Please have alittle faith in your pacemaker. I have had to do quite abit of research on pacemakers and the like in order to be cleared to go back to work. The advances in technology far surpass the advances in cell phones and you can see how far the phones have advanced. Pacemakers are even better. They do ALOT of amazing stuff to keep us going and they do it infallably. Hang in ther and enjoy the ride. It's like getting a new free ticket. The ride only gets beter. Roch

You know you're wired when...
Your signature looks like an EKG.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.

Hi Hayley,
I am not so far away, in Lincolnshire. I have had my pacemaker for 8 weeks and I am still trying to get used to it.
It was all a bit of a shock as my symptoms had been diagnosed as "chronic fatigue syndrome" 12 months ago. Nobody bothered to check my pulse or even considered that there was anything wrong with my heart!
Are you managing to get clear information from your doctors and the pacemaker clinic and did you find out what the codes were on your pacemaker card??
Best wishes
Julie
