Duke is spot on, but your AF may be when you are asleep so check with your doctor, at what time of the day or night you were in AF, for how long, and what your HR was. You will need to look for a trigger for the AF, it could be caffeine or many other things. My AF at first was always at night, and triged by one Scotch and Coca-Cola.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
True or not true?

I'm not sure. You should be able to feel your paroxysmal afib. If you don't feel it, then they must be a very short or quick episodes. If paroxysmal afib is your only problem, then I suggest you don't really have to do the hard core meds which have more side effects. Again, if your afib is so light that you don't even know it and it's lone and paroxysmal, perhaps you might look into minerals and supplements (magnesium, potassium, taurine). That's my opinion. I wish you well.
