serious and not

Newbee here, 11 days old, Thank You all for your messages here, they have helped me immensely. I see my Doctor for the first follow up tomarrow. I now know a little bit of what to ask about. I haven't felt any better and Im worried that I might have pulled a lead out. Does any one know if low blood preasure is conected to sinus bradycardia? Has any one ever died from lack of a shower? Does my PM really blow up if I drink energy drinks?

You may find things improve a lot after your first checkup. The pacemaker is usually left at the factory settings at implant. These are nowhere near the optimum ones for the patient and should be updated within a couple of weeks.

If you read this before the appointment, ask for a copy of the pre and post checkup session. This will give you a record of your settings and can help some of us answer questions.

I seriously doubt you have pulled a lead out. This only happens rarely. Low BP could be related to the bradycardia, but it is hard to tell. How low is your BP. Mine sometimes is as low as 95/50 and I don't consider it a problem.

Hey, take a shower if you want to. I just taped a piece of plastic wrap over the incision area and enjoyed myself. By 2 weeks I was already enjoying the hot tub. I just kept the pacer area out of the water.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
