Recently my EP/Cardiologist advised me not to bench press more than 75 lbs. for fear of fracturing a PM wire/lead.
I had been lifting twice that amount with apparently no problems.
Has anyone been given the same advice?
Thanks,
Syd

I have been lifting lighter with higher reps, but would love to go a little heavier again.

I guess a lot depends on how your leads are wrapped. I have two leads wrapped around my collar bone. The doctor said I can never do another push-up or pull-up. I can never do another chest press or shoulder press. I can never lift anything over 5lbs over my head. I can never strain to lift, pull or push anything again. Otherwise, the collarbone will literally saw my leads in half.
I was an avid P90X exerciser, so I must now find a new exercise routine and it is very difficult and depressing to have been so active and now find I am so limited. Only on week 5 with the pacemaker and so worried about the lose of muscle and gaining weight.

I was told no more than 10 lbs each hand whether it was curls triceps or bench press for first ninety days. After that what ever I felt comfortable with . Does that follow what you other lifters have been told?
You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
Very Light Weights

I am a women that lifts very light weights, only up to 8 lbs. on biceps. I am careful with what I do. Chest flys, I do with a lighter weight, I could do more. Also, I do the pilates reformer machine and some moves I am careful with because of range of motion I have. Be careful, sometimes I overdue it and when that happens my chest muscles underneath the pacemaker hurt.
