What does this mean these are some numbers on my pacemaker report from the EP.

sensing threshold=The minimal atrial or ventricular intracardiac signal amplitude required to inhibit OR trigger a demand pacemaker, expressed in millivolts. Lead impedence= the total opposition to electrical current flow in the pacing circuit. The major sources of resistance in a lead system are the resistance of the conductor (wire), the resistance at the electrode/tissue interface, and polorization of ions in the cardiac tissue during the pacing impulse. The lead impedence is measured in ohms. That is from the pacing glossary book I have. An electrician may have to put it all in laymen's terms...Ha! Bev of NC Go to it DonR or DonB!!!!!

AS = atrial sensing
VS = ventricular sensing
AP = atrial pacing
VP = ventricular pacing
So, you pace atrial about half the time, you never pace ventricle
pacing threshold is how much juice they use to get the pm to pace
I'm not sure what a sensing threshold is and I can't describe lead impedance but that's the number they watch when the battery is getting low, it jumps up before the battery needs replaced.
