When I first had my pacer put in, I had them turn off the one setting for exercise as it made me sick in the car. Over the past few years they have lowered my pulse from 80, 70, and now it is at 60. I am always tired and have gained a lot of weight as well. I know they lowered the rate because my pacer was storing events, but am thinking about talking to the doctor about it as I have been so tired lately. I do not take beta blockers, so that is not the problem.
I was wondering if a lower rate has an effect on tiredness and weight, as I walk 3-4 times a week or more and still have gained about 100 pounds in the past 2 years.
Anyway, have not been on this site in a long time. I hope everyone is well. I have been applying for SSDI for all my medical problems besides my pacemaker. I have been waiting for a court appeal date. In Pittsburgh it is 12-18 months. Kind of ridiculous, but that is the system.
I have had a pacer for 4 years now, and have grown to just ignore it is there. You get use to it if you are new to them. I was 43 when I got mine for bradycardia. This is a great place for comfort and to make friends. :) If anyone has any questions for me, just ask.

You know you're wired when...
You have a T-shirt that reads Wired4Sound.

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.
Thyroid?

Tiredness and weight gain is typical of an under active thyroid, and can be associated with diabetes, adrenal disease etc...
You should seek medical help.
