Good Morning!
I have a questions for you guys...my mom received her pace maker about two weeks ago. Her recovery is going well but she still experiences pain in the incision site. I was wondering if this is normal and how long it usually takes for the incision to heal and the pain to go away?
Thanks :)

It's absolutely normal...I actually still have muscle pain now and then depending on what I am doing that day (I got my pacer on 4/13/09...at the three month mark!). I had incision pain for a good month and a half after implant, until it was pretty well healed up. I still occasionally have aches, but nothing I can't deal with and forget about! I have heard of folks on here having aching pop up now and again out of the blue as well, but, remember...that old pacer was put in a muscle...so it's bound to get worked out once in a while!
Good luck!

I had my PM implanted a month and a half ago. The general healing process went pretty good. But at the site of the incision itself, there was ongoing soreness for about three weeks, then began to dicipate. Now there is only occasion soreness, but I think that mostly has to do with how much I use that shoulder.
Hope this helps.
