Triple Bypass Training update

For those of you who have been following my quest to complete this years Triple Bypass Bike Ride (http://www.teamevergreen.org/triple) here in Colorado just thought I would send out an update. Yesterday I used Bike to Work Day as a good reason to really push myself and see where my fitness level was (after losing the last two weekends to rain/sickness and sickness) and it looks good. Rode into work which was about 34 miles of with a little climbing, rode home over Lookout Mountain and several other hard to moderate climbs for 45 miles and I have to say I am feeling good and hopefully ready to go.

Pretty impressive! I just have to ask looking at your Garmin training summary, what is your anaerobic zone?

I continue walking about 1 hour on the treadmill with an average HR of 121 and max of 134 as of today (2% incline max speed of 3.5 mph). I am totally confused as to how I determine my fat burning and aerobic zones since my pm upper limit is 150. Do I base it on 150 as my max HR?

Anyway, I have a long long long way to go to reach your conditioning level. I would walk outside, but it has been extremely hot (90s) and humid. The Pilates I have been doing 3 times a week is really strengthening my core, but I am having problems doing yoga especially with my left arm, so I am working on proper stretches to get the flexibility back that I had before the pm surgery.

I will be following the Triple Bypass on July 10 and wish you luck. It looks like one really tough course. I have skied Breckenridge (several times) and I'd like to say Copper, but I was sick the entire week I was there a few years ago.I have never been to the mountains you will be cycling through.
