Happy New Year pacers one & all. Question please. I was given a fitbit flex for Xmas. Is it safe to wear with a pacemaker? Is on my left wrist. Thanks

Thanks. Think I'll take it off at night in case I move it near my PM.

It doesn't affect the pm at all so you can have it anywhere you want. I have the One, wear it in the bracelet at night and clip it in my bra to work out. it's in my pocket the rest of the time.

Okay so finally decided to join a gym to get in shape and work my heart alittle bit more.
Question for you I've been doing over arm exercises with weights.....am I allowed to do this? Heard I could pull out my leads?
Looking for advice ...thanks
Wendy

Hi Wendy,
It depends how long ago you had pm inplanted. First 6 weeks, big no no!
Well after I had PM I joined a gym & did some weights, never worried me but I didn't lift them over my head. Other people may be able to comment more.
Cheers,
Lizzie

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Most electronics no problem

Most electronic devices won't bother the PM or be bothered by the PM. We've got a couple of people on the forum who have worked with a lot of electronics without any problems. Also have a few with PM's who do arc welding with no problems. We also had a person doing shortwave radio with no problems.
Doctors and manufacturers pass out a lot of CYA advice. Most of it is just that - CYA - and it doesn't mean anything.
Your fitbit isn't anywhere near an arc welder so I'd go ahead with it.
But I wouldn't use it while standing in a puddle of water while sticking your finger in an open light socket. You might get a real charge out of it!
