battery died

Went for PM check up in April, PM fine. I asked do batteries run down, was told no, we can tell, when battery gets to 3 month of life left, then we replace it. i took my pluse a week ago 55, should not drop below 60, not to concerned thought my pulse oximeter was not working. Next day checked again 54, next day 49 even after exicise , thought this not right & went to A & E. as i was feeling unwell. I said i needed to go to pacing clinic, Test showed PM battery was dead. Replacement will be done 24th June. Not happy i have to wait so long.

How often do you get checked?? Because they do not die overnight. They have a range, like right now mine is 3-5 years. They usually have about 3 months in elective replacement mode, then another 3 months in end of life mode which has limited function. In eol it will pace at a steady rate, usually 60 so if you pace a lot you should feel right away when you go to eol.

If this is your first, replacements are super easy!

something not right

Hi! If you were checked in April, 2 months ago, with no mention of approaching replacement, then, something is definitely not right. Tracey explained the process of a dying battery. So, if it were me, I would be headed for a second opinion, actually new medical care. Take care and keep us posted. Hopeful Heart
