Hi
I have a pacemaker that has recently been replaced. When the pacemaker was tested the leads showed up as being potentially damaged. The subclavian vein that the leads sit in has a blood clot from the original pacemaker insertion. The other pocket may not be viable as i had a pocket infection there some years ago.I was wondering if anyone else had been in this position.Sorry if i havnt explained it very well.

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.

Hello!! I recently had my 6th pacemaker implanted in my right side abdomen with a fresh pair of leads in my vein in my groin. This is not a common site anymore today but I found it so much more comfortable. Both my left & right chest sites were lo longer useable as I had erosion problems along with infection. I've learned as a skinny person there has been the highest site failures in the normal chest implants.
As your age is 30 years my junior & having blockage in your present vein with a blood clot I would suggest some serious talks with your Cardiologist. I forgot to mention I also have my original leads from 1992 still in my vein as they could not be removed because of improper procedure used in restoration of my left chest implant, hence the groin leads I' hosting now. Questions?? Just private message me for details.
