I have the same problem as you. I got my PM on March 17 and many times I feel it making pressure against my ribs. It's always worse when I lie down and sometimes it even keeps me awake. I also feel like it's pulling at my skin and I have to switch position in bed. I don't know if this is normal because I haven't asked the doctor, but I've asked other people with PMs and they don't feel it. Maybe you should ask your doctor, because I've heard that the leads going out of place can cause pain too. I'm going to see my EP soon and I will ask her. Hope that makes you feel better; to know that you're not the only one.

Best wishes
Meredith

i had this too. i just went to the doc today for it. my pacer was just put in about 3and a half weeks ago and he said that its fibroids forming around the pacer in the pocket. basically forming scar tissue. he said that the sensation can last up to 8 wks after implantation. i was so frustrated! it was so sharp and itchy i wanted/ want to open the incision and itch inside of the pocket. but i wont cuz that would be bad :) hope this helps. oh, and the pain radiates down into the ribs and up into the shoulder and can get into the jaw. again, hope it helps. frustrating i know, but at least it's an answer

Thanks

Thank you for your reples. they are very helpful. This was my first post! I actually had my pacemaker since I was 7 yrs old, i am now 18. The generated is about two years old, I have been getting dizzy lately so I made an appt with my EP today. Hopfully they will find something wrong and it's not in my head. :)
Again, thanks for your response. What a great site this it!
