2 er's +16 hours =icky!!

so i started getting severe chest pain last night couldn't breath, dizzy, almost passing out. had my pm put in 4/8/09. i knew this last week something wasnt right. all my previous symptoms were coming back so i made an appt on tue this week with my surgeon. but last night i went to my local er, had 3 heart blocks while there, was on a nitro and heprin drip, ruled out a clot in the lung and a wire puncturing my heart. they were going to ambulance me to the heart hospital about an hour away, but i stabled out and they let me parent's drive me. got there, they interrogated the pm. it apparently still works, it just isn't sensing the heart blocks to do it's job. they said that it may not be the right pacer for me? and that my chest pain is a combo of the heart blocks and still the healing since it's only been just over 3 weeks. i'm just so frustrated that they just sent me home and said to lay in bed and watch tv and movies until my appt on tues. am. and hope that they can figure out what's going on. this surgeon thought it was nerves the first time i saw him until i did the stress test and he figured it all out. now i'm going back and is he going to blow me off again? or will he take me seriously after his original fau paux (sp). so i'm just sitting here in bed with my laptop, tv, and they gave me tylenol#3 till tues am. is there anything i should be asking specifically? has this happened to anyone else? words of widsom? advice? other points i should be bringing up on tues?
thanks!!
k

Possible lead moved

I would be asking them to check to make sure that a lead didn't move or "disconnect" from the heart. Sounds more like that may be the problem. Would explain why your pacer cannot detect the heart block and why your original symptoms have returned. Let us know what happens.

I'm sorry you're going through all this! I really doubt it's "not the right pacer for you." Blocks are one of the easiest things to fix with a pm, any pm can take care of it. It sounds to me like your lead may not be where it needs to be, or it could be the settings need adjusted. It can take a few tries to get it right, that's not unusual. If the lead isn't in position, it doesn't matter what the settings are because the pm isn't getting the data it needs to work correctly.

Did they call your doctor while you were in the ER? If not, call first thing today and try to be seen today. If he knows what's going on, then I guess it's ok to wait until tomorrow but make sure he's up to speed.
