Hello, all.
I am a 22 year old male and in February of this year I had my second box fitted. I had mypacemaker and leads fitted in 2010.
A month or so ago I had an episode where my heart beat accelerated for roughly 12 minutes. This was a one off but since have been experiencing chest pains and aches, weird sensations in my left arm, and a pressure type feeling under my left rib cage. These are not constant and sometimes go days without experiencing any.
I...

Hello all!
So I've recently started experiencing a weird twitching in a muscle near my pacemaker/defibrillator. It feels like an eye twitch on a larger scale and I can actually see it moving. I have never experienced anything like this before and I've had my pacemaker for almost fifteen years (device replacement about 6 years ago). The device was implanted as a precaution and has never actually paced me. After experiencing this for a couple of days I sent my heart doctor a trans...

Good morning, first I would like to thank everyone for their posts and comments that have helped me so much in the last month. I had pacemaker put in 4 weeks ago for sick sinus syndrome(heart rate dropping randomly) in Anchorage Alaska. I have had to come to GA to help my dad who was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. I haven’t been for a device check yet. This week my heart rate is going up like crazy. I ended up at local ER yesterday and they told me to go to a cardiologist. Th...

On May 19th I had a dual chamber Boston Sci. installed . On May 23rd one of the leads loosned & it was reinserted. I had 3 heart block . First off I am on the thin side. But I noticed last week some large veins radiating from the site down my arm. I called my doctor about it they said to come right in for a look. After a brief exam they ordered a ultrasound. They found a blood clot between the site and my shoulder. I was given Eliquis to take . And to make a follow up visit. These ar...

I am a 50 year old female. Diagnosed with a-fib about 5 years ago. in 2016 I had an ablation that apppeared successful for around 6 months. I continued on a beta blocker for rate control until recently when the runs of fib start occurring more regularly. I went back to an EP cardiologist and placed back on an anti-arrhythmic. Shortly after starting the med I had a 5 second sinus pause which led to the placement of my PM. I had a second hospitalization for p...

Overnight last Thursday I went from no health issues to no beats for 7 secs about every 20 minutes. I was fitted with a PM Friday and sent home Saturday. 3 hours at home and I fainted and my pulse was down to 24. I must admit I was terrified and it was made more difficult because I had never thought to review how my new phone can dial 911.
I did not realise how difficult it is to even remember the 3 numbers when you are lying on the floor. It turned out a lead had moved and by Wednesday...

I wrestled with whether or not to post this, not wanting to frighten any newbies so I took the post down until I got more information. Please keep in mind this is very, very rare.
In April, the interrogation showed I had 7 months battery life left on my CRT-D. 2 months later in June, my device starting beeping every 6 hours (a red flag but who knew). I went in to my Cardio's office and my nurse interrogated my device and it revealed I have < 3 months left...

I've been experienceing my body having weakness throughout, and joint pain.
I heard a noise coming from my chest area and thought it was coming from my fitbit watch, unfortunately for me I ignored it for over a three week period.
I took my watch off last night to charge it and this morning I heard the same sound, my watch was in another room on the opposite side of the house. This time there was no doubt that that my pacemaker/defbrillator was making the warning sound.

Hi.. My LV ejection fraction is 20% and RV is in normal range, is there any pacemaker for LV pacing only? Some doctors are recommending me CRT-D but some are saying that it will not help to improve LV specifically.
Please guide me which pacemaker would be better for me, waiting for your opinions. Thanks

Seems to me, some Docs are just wanting to perform "procedures." For me, a urologist I began seeing wants to do the Prolieve System to address my BPH. Reading the Prolieve brochure, the procedure is contraindicated for those with an implanted pacemaker along with coagulation issues (that's me! - LAC & APS). My Medtronic User Guide also stresses to avoid Diathermy treatment andTransurethral needle ablation. As usual, the contraindications are never addressed...

as usual, my titles are somewhat misleading, but the pretty in cyan didn't sound as good.
I'm starting to become one of those annoying patients for my poor medical team. Frequent messages to and fro, whimpering, whining, complaining. This weak has been particularly difficult for them and I may just be pushing my luck. Hate to have them dump me after all these years. You know how difficult it is to properly train doctors, they aren't the brightest, and speak a foreign la...

All, I had my PM placed this week and have found that when I bend over I get a rapid popping sensation and I can see a visible twitching in my chest just under my sternum. This lasts a number of seconds prior to subsiding. Is this normal? Should I wait for my next interrogation to address this or should I get an appointment sooner? Thanks!

I had a dual chamber pacemaker put in in May of this year. I noticed the incision wasnt closing and before i knew it the pacemaker was coming out. Next morni g it was removed. I was in a few days and my cardio doc instead of putting another one in decided i should go for more tests. Yesterday my vitals tanked again. Heartrate is under 50 and low bp. I asked for another doc. Shouldnt they just put another pacemaker in?

I'm 65, fit active and muscular build. I got my pacemaker 2.5 weeks ago. Significnt improvement. No more dizzyness all the time. I have already walked 4 and 5 miles days last week. I got my fast gate back. I had regular BPM in the low 30's. Been putting this of for a few years. I always wondered if that was from weight lifting all my life. (nothing professional). I feel like the device may have been placed too close to my shoulder and moving my shoulder cause...

I’m 46 with several issues that I refuse to let hold me back. I did however have to get a pacer May 25, 2018. The tech that came in told me the voltage was too high in the lower chamber however “no will come in over the holiday weekend to fix it”. Which turned out to be correct because when I was unable to walk and passed out at home several hours later and went to the hospital by ambulance the colleague of my doctor advised the ER doc to do just that send me home and to cal...
