Thanks everyone

For the responses. My husband has an appointment tomorrow with his EP. He's not had any more events since last Wednesday...knock wood. I wonder if maybe the surgery of having the old ICD replaced didn't aggrevate his heart. And the virtuoso is a much more advanced ICD. I don't know just guessing here, hopefully things will calm down and go back to where we were pre ICD replacement....Cissie

########## HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ##########

To Billie ( BlueAustralia ) July 12, 1942.

This is for you Billie.

If your world is warm and lovely, when the morning sun is bright.
If a rainbow follows cloudy skies, and makes your heart feel light.
If the people whom you love the most, surround you through the days.
If their laughter and their friendship, gives you joy in countless ways.
If you reach high to touch the stars, and make your dreams come true.
You'll know the many special things that...

&=&=&= HAPPY BIRTHDAY! =&=&=&

To ( Hevtalbot ) July 12, 1979.

When I woke up this morning, I ran to the window and peeked outside to remind the sun that today is a special day:
" YOUR BIRTHDAY! "
And the sun smiled and promised to shine on you all day long: a present for you no matter where you are.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

pacer movement

Hi I have had my pm for 11years. At times it does feel like it is moving. Sometimes the pocket tissue loosens up. Try not laying on the side at nite. It cant come out from what I have read and asked. It just kinda slides alittle and if I lay on my left side too long at nite,I does feel different in the morning. I hope this helps.

Hi Pals

We had a good crossing on the ferry last Sunday. And, the most fantastic morning tea/breakfast with rewired aussie. Poor Kay, we couldn't ring her. Brian dropped his mobile in the dog's water bucket the day before and when I went to use mine the battery was dead. So, I am still full of apologies for waking up and getting my friend out of bed! (How to win friends and influence people)

It seems hard to believe that we have been away for a week already. We spen...

my baby has a pacemaker

I have lupus and my baby has complete heart block. We brought him home but he became unwell and his heart rate dropped more. We had to rush him to hospital for a pacemaker fitted. He is getting better slowly but has some fluid on his chest. I am scared to bring him home and scared of his future with this thing in his chest. Has any new mum like me had these fears. I know i just need time to get used to it all it was a very traumatic time. I love him so much.

Pacemaker moving ???

I recently posted a message about wondering if my pacemaker has moved or trying to move into my armpit. Thank you for the comments but I have had this one for approximately 2 years, it's been in there for awhile. Can they still move on you even if you have had them for that long? I am very concerned about this. Thank you.

Pacing rate & leads

I wish to know why my EP didn't want to set the pacemaker to pace at rate 60? He wants it on 70. I have a terrible pacemaker syndrome. I've begged him for a year then he sets it down to 65.

I would like to learn or know why the pacemaker has to pace the Atria and ventricle sequentially?

If Sick Sinus Symptom or A-Fib happen, why can't just pace the Atria and leave the ventricle alone?

If the AV node not function, why can't just pace the ventricle and leave th...

Pacemaker moving??

I have been having some slight and somewhat irritable pain in my underarm. I keep feeling like I need to lift my arm up a little to relieve it and sometimes put my hand under there to relieve it. Does anyone know what this is or is it anything to worry about? I go to my cardio next month. Do you think I need to request an x-ray to see what is going on? This is my second pacemaker. I never had any problems with my first one. I have a dual chamber but at the time can't remember the brand, sorry.

LONG LASTING PACEMAKER

I nearly fell out of my chair here in the UK this morning as I spotted an article about the worlds oldest pacemaker which is still keeping Lesley Iles in the land of the living. It has been pacing her heart for 25 years, yes 25 years already and is still doing its job. They dont make them like that any more. Shame.
She is 51 years old and plans to take part in this years Southend Bike ride. She is a history teacher with a history none the less. I do know of a neighbour whose pacemaker laste...

Dr. reaction

I finally have an appt. next Thursday to see my original surgeon.
I do not care if he thinks these issues are in my"head". I know they are real and my body does not feel right. I maintained this after the surgery in February. Even after 4 visits, I felt dismissed.
Hopefully, this surgeon will listen as I don't feel there should be pain involved after 6 months. In addition, does anyone else feel the lead aside from the pacemaker. It feels like a thick cord getting longer by the month.

Hello

I do not have a ICD but my husband does and I hope it is still appropriate for me to post on his behalf. He had a medtronics ICD placed in 2003, in all that time he had 7 shocks. Last month that ICD was replaced with the new and improved medtronics virtuoso, he has had 2 shocks and 1 pace with this ICD in less then a month. Both shocks put him unconscious and scared me beyond words. He feels them coming on and gets to the floor as fast as he can. Now the only thing that has changed is the ICD,...

Syncope

Hello to all of my pacemaker friends! What a joy it is to be able to write to you this afternoon.
I was in a car accident on Monday morning after an episode of syncope while driving to work caused me to hit a tree. Although my car is totaled, luckily I was wearing my seatbelt and the airbags deployed, so I was not seriously injured. I was taken to our local emergency room and then life flighted by helicopter to the nearest trauma center because of the nature of the accident and my prolonged...

Pacemaker Questions

Hi! Have a couple of questions about my new pacemaker and wonder if anyone has similar issues, etc. I am in cardiac rehab as also had a heart attack and two stents. I had to have the pacemaker cause after the atack, heart rate kept dropping to 30. Now, my heart rate is going to 130 at rehab. It has been considerably hhigher since I got the pacemaker than before. Has anyone had this trouble and do you know what they do to correct it? I don't go to cardiologist till July 22nd although they...

exercise setting

I am 7 weeks post ventricle lead replacement and feeling GREAT finally. I have been walking 1-2 hours daily since the replacement but now I am starting to get a real cardio workout and tomorrow I will start weight training again. My question is that when I saw my doc last week she mentioned a setting for exercise that could happen if I felt like I was hitting the wall when I exercised. I didn"t get that feeling this morning but what did happen is my heart rate monitor (Polar) was jumping all o...

The new pacemaker is a Biotronic. I currantly have another broken A lead. My current doctor ran some tests on me and said he does not understand why I ever needed...
