Out of breath

I have been having problems running slowly and yet being out of breath. I've discovered that my pacemaker cuts in half the heart rate when it exceeds 150 bpm. Do other people experience this? What do you do? Thanks in advance

Job Interview

I've had a pacer for eight weeks now. I have a job interview tomorrow for a part time warehouse position. It will involve a lot of heavy lifting. I enjoy doing this work. I've done it for years. I have been cleared by my Dr to do this type of work. I'm wondering if I should mention the pacer during my interview. I have a feeling once I do my application will go in the trash. I don't need the job. It's just to pick up some extra cash. I've always worked two jobs and I don't want to stop...

Almost crying again!

Hi guys, I was feeling emotional... for awhile today. Almost gave it up to go cry in the bathroom at work! Well, I decided that just isn't who I am. I won't hide in any bathroom, especially the one at work.

So I have a lot to do... so does everyone except the ones at the rest home. (no offense intended).

So tomorrow is a new day, I am attending classes at Wichita State University. The boss has gone on vacation (U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS!) and his classes begin the day he leaves...

What a wonderful group!

Hello guys,
Yes, it's me again.... I am trying so hard to lift myself up, but struggling still. Just wanted to thank you all for the good vibes coming my way. I am trying very hard, I just feel so drained of my energy, the energy that usually flows freely from my heart. I keep thinking this is so unlike me as. I keep thinking this will pass. I'm for sure developing a new sense of understanding for people who are suffering as I am... I can tell you that. Maybe that is the lesson I need to le...

www.dailymail.co.uk (headlines)

tells a very interesting story about possible computer hackers being able to interfer with those PM patients settings, who use telephone contact for them, and the possible use of a "cloaker" to prevent it.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

From TIME and CNN

Heart disease is often referred to as the leading cause of death in the U.S. — but in fact, nobody dies of heart disease, because there is no such thing. "Heart disease" is a catchall term that includes coronary artery disease, heart failure and cardiomyopathy (just as "lung disease" includes asthma, emphysema and lung cancer). It doesn't include heart attack, though, because a heart attack can be the result of one kind of heart disease or the cause of another — but...

almost 3 years and counting....

I have had my pacemaker for nearly 3 years now, and it has totally improved my life! I can dance again, drive again, and not worry about falling over-- except for my natural clumsiness! I hope that everyone is doing well.

We should all be so thankful for this tiny little device that saves our lives. It has mine.

Blood Pressure Difference In Each Arm

I thought some of you might find this interesting:

Generally, a small difference in blood pressure readings between arms isn't a health concern.

Blood pressure readings are given in two numbers. The top number is the maximum pressure your heart exerts while beating (systolic pressure), and the bottom number is the amount of pressure in your arteries between beats (diastolic pressure). A difference of less than 5 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) between arms for either readin...

CHD Awareness

Hey, it's me again! This year, I am going to attempt to raise all sorts of hullabaloo about CHD awareness. We'll see how it turns out... I am shooting to raise at least $5,000 for various CHD organizations and to go around and speak at local schools. Maybe I'm going too far with plans, but you've got to, right? Anyway, wish me luck!

P.S. CHD Awareness Week is February 7-14!! I know it's a bit early, but you know...

Hello
Because of my blood pressure being totally irregular, one minute normal then the next minute out of control, i have not been fitted with a 24 hour blood pressure monitor. Before this was put on i was asked what side is my pacemaker in. The nurse has put it on the opposite side. Any reason why this should be? I should of asked really.
On the opposite side there is the old lead still insitu from my old pm.
