I saw my EP today; been 14 months with my "little titanium cookie." He and I are both happy with the lack of fainting in my life post-PM, so now I get to reduce my telephone-check-ups to every 6 months and office visits to annually!
If any of you have had false-diagnosis and wrong medications for decades, then you'll understand my glee at not being epileptic and not taking medications that never controlled what you didn't have.

I had my pacemaker inserted in June and after 4 weeks started to feel real good...after being tested it was noted that I was pacing 85% of the time....In the last 2 weeks, I have not been feeling right....have bouts of dizziness and noticed when I had my heart rate monitor on that when sitting and watching tv, my hr did go down to 56...my pm is set with the low of 60. I am feeling tired and depleted...anyone have any feedback....vtlaney

I've had my PM/ICD 3 months today. All has gone pretty well until last Sunday when I was working outside & had to rest to catch my breath (I wasn't working that hard!).Monday I walked on my lunch hour & again, felt breathless. Last night at dance lessons (ballroom classes - we're having a blast!) I felt like I had run a marathon. WTH?!?! I reached my target level of 25 mg Coreg 2X daily 2 weeks ago and take 5 mg of Lisinopril daily. I've wondered about congestion like when you have a cold but I...

A friend of mine recommended this site. I have been struggling with extreme fatigue and fainting for about a year. Several "minor" injuries and hospital stays showed nothing major - high blood pressure. Found a new Cardiologist and got bp under control but still suffering from extreme exhaustion and fainting more frequestly. At times I feel like it's an effort to breathe. Walking up stairs is like running a marathon for me. I'm having a Tilt Table Test tomorrow and don't know what to expec...

Yesterday I had an 8hr episode with a fast heart rate @120bpm. While the rate eventually became normal @60bpm (my PM is set at 60bpm), my heart feels "sore". I'm thinking it is muscle soreness maybe? Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar after bouts with a high heart rate.

I wrote a while ago about my enlarged heart. I had a meeting with my Dr. last week. I am scheduled for an echo this Fri. and will get the results on the 7th of Nov.
I was wondering if any of you have had an ablation that resulted in dependency for the atria but not the ventricles? Then became dependent on the ventricles also?
I know I will learn more on the 7th but I always do my own research and come to hear the advice y'all give. I appreciate each of you that have stayed stron...

As anyone experienced increased sweating after pacemaker implant? Before my pacer implant, I would sweat but not that much. I usually stay on the cold side and when I warmed up it felt nice. I live in South Georgia.
Now when I exercise on the treadmill sweat pours out of me like a Saturday Night Live skit.
Just wondering....it almost seems like my circulation has improved since PacMan was installed.

a little laughter
in one of the support groups i belong to a member had quite an extraordinary story of macabre humor. as his story goes, he was preparing some string beans for cooking, which he was holding in his hand when his ICD went off shocking him senseless. when he regained his senses, he noticed that the beans he was holding in his hand were letting off steam, as though they had been cooked.
i kid ye not. sounds like something out of ripley's believe it or not. the whole group had a good laugh at...

Still Struggling
I've had the pacemaker now for a couple of months and I'm sorry to say I still haven't made peace with it. It still hurts and I scarred awfully. Its possible that I had a reaction to the disolvable stitches. Either way it looks awful and I'm not pleased. And if one more of my family members says "yeah you hate it but its keeping you alive and from passing out" I'm going to puke. I know it's good for me, I know it keeps me from passing out. But it's still something foreign in my body and it still...

I had my PM implanted 15 months ago and all seems OK. I had my checkup yesterday; you know the one where they raise your HR and then drop it to about 40 bpm to check it out. I hate that feeling, but its necessary.
The doc said I had progressed to a complete heart block, but the pacer was doing its job well, and I have no physical limitations or activity restrictions. I do have some general questions:
1. Will my heart keep getting worse with the pacemaker and affect my qual...

Hey, Mom finally called the cardiologist for my test results! The good news is, I'm fine. The bad news is, they didn't find anything and now I have to live with the uncomfortable-ness (is that a word???) Anyway, so many wanted to know, so there it is.
What would you do?

If you don't need your pacer or ICD, will you have it out or leave it in? If you have every reason to believe that you can do without your device, will you want to get rid of it when the chance comes?
I do believe there are people who really need their device and have a good reason to have it in the first place, but what if you are one of those few that got one because doctors didn't know what to do or what was wrong with you at the time?
