Hello out there......I am so confused, and hope that someone can answer some questions for me. I had a pacemaker put in November 2006 and I am doing fine. I am just confused as to what happened the night I got sick. We were traveling and we were 2 states away from home. I did not feel well so we stopped and got a motel room. Very soon after I vomited 2 times within a 20 minute period and I just figured I had a virus. I soon became nauseated again but realized It was not a vomiting nausea,...
Had my PM implanted on 8/09/2007 and now in the recovery stage. There a lot of things I want to get back to doing. Golfing(normally 5 days a week), weight lifting (modified for PM), However, I will take my Doc's advice on the 60 days for golf and strennous exercise. I certainly don't want to pull a lead out. I found this group quite by accident and it is quite comforting to know that you can share your concerns with others in the same boat. I am still quite sore and black and blue from the...

I was wondering if prior to being paced if any of you with congenital complete heart block had problems being cold all the time? I seem to be unaturally cold. I am comfortable in my house when the temp is 80. I wonder if it is related to the heart.
Would like to hear from anyone soon to get a pacemaker. Mine is scheduled for August 21. It's always on my mind. Wondering if you're feeling that way.
I think by the title you can imagine where I am going with this. This is such a crazy rollercoaster that I am thinking I may cut back on my posts this site so you all don't have to come along for the ride too. I think I may just post more--if I ever get any further.
I went to the pacer doc. Completely blew off CT and wondered why I even came to see him. He said the CT is probably "off" in my SVC severity. He just wants to "watch it"--apparently just watch it...

Isn't there a way to keep looking through the posts as one is still in the chat room. One could kind of wait in chat ,while they are posting or answering posts. Then if another enters chat the icon could flash up that lets the person know someone else has entered chat. I mean the chat is great but if you go back I think you will see more of SO and So entered chat "Hello" sos and so left chat, etc...The only way i know to go around this is to open up 2 tabs and log in twice. One goes to chat ,one...

for my gallbladder to be removed.. And they found a mass on my liver, and my heart is enlarged with fliud around it. I also have a urinary dilation with my bile duct going into my liver swollen. Smitty what does all this mean.It seems to never stop. Didn't mean to bring anyone down ,just a simple pity party, only lasted 30 seconds though. LOL. Hope all are well.
I had my first follow up appt. yesterday and they found that in the first week, my PM was being used 16% of the time. Is there a normal amount or is everyone different?
I had pm pu in last thursday. when I woke up on tuesday morning my sling had ripped and my arm was over my head. I didn't think too much about it and sewed the sling. that evening I had huge muscle spasms on my right side. after calling the surgeon I went to the hospital and found out that I had pulled one lead out 2" and the other one out 6". had surgery to put them back and now he has me on a very restricted regimen. I'm really scared but know I have to be careful.

Some of you are familiar with my story. I got my first PM in January and had a smooth, easy recovery initially. Cardiac issues all solved. But I never got to the point of being pain-free, and certain routine activities, as well as sports, continued to hurt even after 6 months: drying my hair, sleeping on my left side, a seatbelt, kayaking, backpack or purse on my left shoulder, etc. I'm very thin-skinned at the PM site below my collarbone and it was a very prominent lump, and so close to my shou...
I am new to this site, but have a feeling that we will be here quite a bit. My husband will be receiving his ICD on August 14th. i am doing last minute panic research online. Any advice, do's don'ts. Things we should ask, things we should know? Just know that it will be a Medtronic, that is it.
Taking baby steps, terrified the whole way.
any info, tips, advice, things to be concerned with would be greatly appreciated.
Does any have a medic alert tattoo? Thought that might be cool. I go without my jewelry a lot. But, though it might be cool to get the medic alert service and have my number and symbol tattooed on the inside of my wrist or somewhere veiwable. I know first responders are trained to look for a medic alert but would they notice a tattoo? Any one have any input on that?
