CRT pacemaker leada

How easy is it to pull a lead out of position in your heart? I had my pacemaker surgery on Friday. Today I twisted my right arm around to put on a sweater (pacemaker is on left side) and felt a very hard, sharp pain in the middle of my chest. I'm wondering if I could have dislodged a lead?

Broken Lead ??

Several night's ago  I rolled from my left to the right side. Instantly I had a sharp stabbing pain from my pacemaker area in fact I thought something had penetrated the skin ( PM is on right side) . Right as that happened my heart rate slowed way down and I felt like passing out. It was not going away so I thought ok sit up and see how that is. Still the same thing. I laid back down and still I felt like passing out and my heart rate was slow.. Still everytime when I move my r...

New lead

Hi All well not far off now it seems like a eternity since my lead went bad and developed pacemaker syndrome, it's been a tough ride.

Anyway booked in on 25th November for new lead, received a copy of a letter to my "GP" from my surgeon saying the lead will be capped and buried. I haven't seen my Dr to discuss this just a 2 min conversation over the phone that he need to replace the top lead, I am over the moon to get it done as I feel very ill but want to know where t...

3rd lead added?

Hi all!

I have had two leads for 13 years now, today for the first time a doctor mentioned possibly adding a third lead at some point. So, not replacing, but adding a lead "to the left side". Have many of you had this done, why and how did it go? The doctor seemed to think that three leads would have been better from the start since adding a lead afterwards carries a risk of infection.

A Frayed Lead

So, I have a frayed lead. I'm barely paced, like way less than 1% of the time. I've had my pacer for 15 years. I also have a cow valve AVR. I am 52 years old.

To leave the lead, or remove it? That is the question.

Any experience?

Thanks!

New lead

Hi all

It's been a long haul since July to get anyone to listen to me, as lots of you know my top lead broke while having a box change in July, the Dr said I didn't need the top lead just the ventricle, I went on to develop such horrible beats that I feel in my chest and neck beats I have never experienced in 23years of having a PM got a second opinion from a technical team in another hospital who say I must have a new lead, it's taken 3 emails 2 voice mail to the Dr who did...

Lead Extractions - New Leads

Hi all. I am heading to see a surgeon on Thursday to talk about the recommendation of lead extractions (4 leads, oldest implanted in 1994) and placement of two new leads. I am 42 years old, pacemaker since age 5 for congenital heart block. Heart function & strength looks great - no issues there. When I got my last device 4 years ago they considered extracting at that time, but decided against it since they were working fine. Now, lots of noise and heart beating super fast/super slow at ra...

Arm lift

Hi all

I am 4.5 weeks post surgery for new leads and a new pacemaker unit.  Today, without thinking, I lifted my arm above my head.  Now I am worried that I might have pulled a lead out and am wondering how I would know if i have?!?!

Am a little paranoid as I have had heaps of issues in the past with infection etc with pervious pacemakers so might be overly worried.

Can a pacemaker conk out?

Hi all,

I am a 56 y.o male cyclist and runner.  On Feb. 25 of this year i had a Medtronic Azure dual lead PM implanted for 'weak electrical signal'.  Resting HR was set at 60 BPM. (on my own I would drop into the mid 30s).  At my six month checkup, the nurse/technician dropped the sleeping HR to 50 and raised my upper limit.  All was well.  No more lightheadedness, more energy.  Last week I noticed a couple of 'small pings', not painful, but...

Sleep number bed

Thumping from diaphragm on right side of body

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you did to relieve it?

I have had my Pacemaker since May, 2019. The past 6 months I have experienced 'thumping' from

my right side from diaphragm. Saw my cardiologist and he said that a lead was placed to close

to the diaphragm area and that causes that 'thumping' when pace maker is correcting itself. It is

not a life or death matter but just very annoying, so much that I can not...

Popping my neck with newly implanted pacemaker

I just had my Pacemaker placed last Thursday. I've been very careful about not raising or stretching my arm. However, I just popped my neck and instantly panicked. I never asked the Dr. or nurses if I could do that. I'm worried I may have compromised a lead. I can't find anything written about this. Has anyone been told not to do that while they're still under restrictions. I feel so silly asking this but I'm so nervous about breaking or dislodging a lead.

St. Jude Defibrillator and pacemaker

Hello everyone, I had a St Jude Defibrillator and pace maker installed in Nov 2014. Never had a issue until yesterday. I was just at the cardiologist last week and checked my Defibrillator and stated I have a year/year and a half of battery power left. Yesterday I had a vibration when I sat down and thought it was the phone I sat on. Today it went off twice. Lasted 6 seconds and then after 2 seconds it vibrated again for 6 seconds. Called my cardiologist and he just told me to come into his o...

Well, I had a remote test last Sunday. I knew something was wrong.  BP went out of control on Saturday. No matter what I did pulse rate was 65. I forgot how tired I was pre PM. Monday morning call to the Dr that is replacing my PM.  Before Dr office called me back the device center that I sent my test to on Sunday called me.  She said my pm was at end of life. I said that was not news to me. Dr office called back have my appt to replace on 9/3 .  I was really dreading this...

Boston scientific Accolade 301 pacemaker

My PM is 4 years 6monrhs old, and I'm being told that I only have 6 months more of battery life? Anyone else have similar experience. I've read that some  BS have accelwratwd depletion because of a "hydrogen" leak or something? I've never had any problem with it, have a few recorded episodes each 6 months but I feel nothing? I exercise moderate to vigorously.
