I had a nearly fatal event that resulted in getting an implant. How long does it take to get over the trauma of the entire experience.
ARE WE ABOUT TO RUN OUT OF PACEMAKERS?
Good Evening, I havent been on this site for quite a while. I live in the UK across the pond. I am a little worried that the heath service will not replace my pacemaker in about 3 years time. And being totally dependant on it due to an AV node ablation proceedure. The pandemic is causing chaos in the health service and i think we may have to live with it which our governments dont yet understand. I suspect the helth service will go bancrupt . Peter

Pacemaker syndrome
Had my pacemaker for a year and have been diagnosed with pacemaker syndrome. My Dr reccomends changing out my pacemaker and adding an additional lead plus defibulator type pacemaker. When my device was first implanted one lead came loose and several weeks in they had to go back in and reposition lead. Now I am faced with this situation. I want to thank everyone that replied to my post. Its great to be associated with so many people that have already gone through most of which im about to go through and are willing to share their experiences.
I think therapy might definitely be in the cards for me once I physically heal up a little more. Looking forward to more support from the group and someday offering my support to others that might need it from me.

Heart pain
Hi
I had a pacemaker implant on 10th November due to grade 2 heart block.
I was waiting to see if it was a temporary thing but for the fourth day in a row I've had an ache in what I presume is my heart.
It is not unbearable but when resting or at night it is like a tooth ache and I am needing to take painkillers to get to sleep
I know I need to speak to the cardiologist but is this something others have experienced?
Could it be healing still...

I'm getting a defibrillator Feb. 3 by Dr. Seger in Houston. Any advice about what to expect will be appreciated. How long should I expect to heal and be able to walk 3 miles a day and back to light weight lifting?

I had my PM fitted 3 weeks ago in 3 weeks time I am going back for a AV node ablation which means I will be solely reliant on the PM I'm feeling a bit jittery about it probably a normal feeling but just need some reassurance from anyone that has what they call a Pace and Ablate if anonee can help I would be grateful

sarcoidosis diagnosis --> anxiety
I had an MRI two days ago and yesterday the EP called to say there were signs of sarcoidosis (I guess I should say "sarcoidisis or other infiltration," because my understanding is that sarcoidisis diagnoses are hard to make definitively). So my PM plans have become ICD plans, and I have been referred to a specialist at another hospital for follow-up, possible PET, etc.

A week ago I was happy and relatively healthy. After my implant on 12/10 my happy life ceased to exist. I expected some issues like getting used to having a machine regulate my heart. I was prepared for some pain. My EP told me I needed a PM for bradycardia and I stupidly and naively went along with the suggestion. New to pacemaker
Just got my PM inserted on 12/2 after ablation in September and fainting episode on 12/1. Loop recorder implanted in October showed my heart paused for about 7 seconds causing fainting episode. Hence loop removal and PM insertion. Since then I've felt like absolute crap. I almost constantly feel like I weigh a thousand pounds and am being pulled to the ground. Sick Sinus Syndrome impact on life expectancy
Hi Fellow heart-device owners, I'm a 47yr old father of 3 girls (aged 9 to 15) and was diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome last month after a couple of fainting spells and got a PM fitted. Was at my follow-up with the dr, but forgot to ask him what the expected impact on life expectancy is. Any informed views on this (scary) topic? I am healty otherwise.
Waking up every night
So three weeks in after my implant I'm still waking up every single night without fail
At first I suspected it was the uncomfortable nature of the location of the device but that has settled down nicely.
I get off to sleep absolutely fine but after about 2 hours I wake up and then again 2 hours later.
Has anyone had the same due to a new lower heart rate during sleep?
Any tips on keeping asleep until my first appointment?
Dreams are they really so sweet
I would appreciate some help. This might seem like a fun question but what do dreams and nightmares really mean? Could it mean that the sufferer has unresolved psychological issues or medical conditions or both?
Can our medication, pacemakers, health conditions cause bad dreams and nightmares? I know beta blockers which are commonly used may increase the potential for a nightmare. I occasionally get them with Bisoprolol and my doctors tell me that this is because...
Pain at pacemaker area
I had My PM implanted 2 weeks ago (October 19th). For the first time Today i have noticed pain at the incision area but it doesn't feel like it's the incision. It's a dull achy pain. Could it be the Pacemaker itself that I am feeling?
