6 weeks post-surgery

6 weeks ago I had my pacemaker (Biotronik, 2 leads) implanted for SSS. What a ride it has been. The first few weeks were definiately an adjustment. Now that my arm restrictions have been lifted, I feel like my life can go a back to normal. I'm posting, however, because I have a few concerns. I pretty consistenly have nerve pain throughout my chest cavity, mainly on my right side. By the end of the day my chest is heavy and I sometimes have some shortness of breath. I know everyone...

Gallbladder flare up

Since my pacemaker was put in five weeks ago, I have had this pain between my shoulder blades. I have talked to many doctors and with much research,  I have finally come to the conclusion it's got to be my gallbladder. Has anyone had gallbladder problems since your pacemaker has been put in? I don't know if a wire is hitting a nerve that's causing an issue or what is going on. My blood pressure will rise up after I eat along with the pain. I am going to see my prima...

Post PM Implant

Hello all,

It will be 5 weeks tomorrow that I received my permanent PM.  Still having issues with soreness in my left shoulder, tenderness at the incision site and under my collar bone, some under my arm (armpit area).  Sometimes I feel as though my PM is getting in my way of some movement.  Constantly feels like something is blocking my movement. I do realize that there is an object there, but nonetheless its uncomfortable. I still have another week or so before I am all...

Newly placed device

Hi, everyone.

I received a pacemaker four weeks ago tomorrow.  I am finding things more difficult than I thought; I thought everything would be perfect and "back to normal" (my underlying condition leading to now is Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy, and I've had a myectomy).  I am experiencing shortness of breath, sensitivity in the incision area still, and pounding heartbeats.  I have an appointment a week early tomorrow with the pacemaker clinic so...

Is it all in my head?

Just curious if anyone else here suffers from anxiety that "how sick they are" is all in their head.  I have days where I feel ok and can do some ADLs and others where I am extremely hypotension, short of breath, etc just doing ADLs.  The waxing and waning makes me have anxiety where when I am having a good day or two I start to think it's all been in my head and I am not that sick.  Albeit if it was all in my head I would be very very sick in some psychological w...

I believe I am recovering ok but have very little energy ,today especially .Promised myself I would have a walk but just cannot muster up any enthusiasm ,wondering if this is just me or am I expecting too much .

New PM

My husband recieved his PM on 4/20. He passed out and was flown to nearest major hospital with a HR of 30-33. He recieved a 3 wire Medtronic CRT Percepta. He is a 77yro with a 32 yro mechanical aoric valve. His heart could not sustain a HR beyond 33BPM without a PM. This was a sudden onset and the EP said it was an electrical bundle failure. Prior to his PM his HR usually ran around 60 BPM. His situation is muddled with orthostatic hypotension from Parkinson's, causing his blood pres...

NSVT issues again

Hello again everyone,

I have been having a few issues with NSVT in the past and have spoken about it on this forum in the past. Back in october I had a treadmill test which showed a short 7 beat episode of Non-Sustained VT. This was quite worrying for me, as an anxious 17 year old. And I have been closely monitored since.

I have had a new pacemaker implanted since (in january) and we expected this to help calm the situation. I have been having palpitations everyday for a lon...

Post op

Hi all,

I am 4 weeks post second pacemaker. My first pace maker was put in on December 28th 2020. It was a single lead. Never felt good after that. Three cardiologist later found out that I was in second degree conduction heart block which lead to them upgrading me to a two lead pacemaker. I am a 41 year old female who was healthy up until August of last year and started passing out and having irregular heart beats. My question is this new pacemaker has been in four weeks. About a week...

Coping with transition to having a Pacemaker

Hi all well I'm doing well. However the transition from no pacemaker to having one is strange. 10 days today since I had a twin lead pacemaker fitted. I'm 53 this year in the Army and still serving. Not able to deploy now but I'm fit and worried with what I'm going to be able to do.

Good family and friends around me. That helps.

The thing is I feel the leads inside me it's strange and the pacemaker well I'm just feeling it move.

Looking forward to rid...

Post PM Implant

Hello all,

I'm a newbie to the club. Just had my PM implanted two weeks ago tomorrow. April 9, 2021.  Still trying to process all of the events that lead up to it.  I'm a 58 year old woman and NEVER had any issues at all with my health. A two days leading up to my ER visit, I felt as though I wanted to pass out.  The night before my ER visit I passed out in bed and came to.  The morning of my ER visit, I told my husband what had happend the night before. He a...

Still have "Hmmm" moments

I have been coming back to this forum quite a lot in the last few days. I am 3 months post-procedure (I had a pacemaker implanted to address pauses that were occuring along with a-fib), and I feel like I am maybe at another plateau of sorts. At first I did feel almost worse than I had before the pm. As I healed mentally and physically (and started a beta blocker), I began to feel healthy & energetic, and was very nearly symptom-free, even from a-fib. Recently though, I have been feel...

Lead dislodge feer

Hey, I'm almost 5 weeks out from getting my pacemaker. Good news is I'm feeling so much better! I really don't have a problem sleeping with my pacemaker. And it's amazing how many things I can do easily that I couldn't do before now. I can't seem to get over my constant fear dislodging my lead

A fortnight after my implant, the recovery is fine but I feel extremely fatigued and sleepy in the evenings. So much so that it is difficult to stay awake. Weakness is all pervasive. If anyone has these symptoms please share and suggest remedy.

Spouses-I actually have a non technical question for y’all

So with all the bad news we have had over the last year.  Especially finding out my mitral surgery did not reverse remodel (although it may still yet) and my heart is getting worse, I am sure y'all can relate that me and my fiancé are worried.  My question is have any of you experienced your partner or spouse trying to "be the rock" and not show how worried they are?  My fiancé openly admits to doing this, but it confuses me.  He will tell me he...

Still discomfort and stinging

I received my medtronic PM four months ago and have lots of discomfort and stinging daily and especially trying to sleep. My cardiologist does not seem to address any of my concerns. I know some of you have had stinging so I need advice. His nurse keeps telling me to just give it longer time with no suggestions on how to deal with it except over-the-counter pain medication which doesn't seem to help much. Any help would be appreciated.
