Medications

Before my icd was put in back in November, my cardiologist prescribed me entresto metoprolol. Well I just checked the drug interactions between the 2, I'm shocked the risk of death is high and there is no reason why it stated. The interaction between entresto and spironolactone is kidney failure, well my cardiologist hasn't done a blood or urine test. My cardiologist (nevada heart and vascular) considered the vast nevada, so WTF. My ct results came back and everything is good accordin...

Problems

Had pacemaker implant Oct 2020 and have had at least 6 adjustments! Having dizziness and feeling that my heart is beating loudly and weakness feelings. Asked nurse to check if any events had shown up from the monitor that is by my bed! All looked ok she said! Why am I getting these symptoms  if nothing is showing! They come on with no warning and I am not doing any strenuous activities. The reason for my pacemaker is bradycardia and sick sinus syndrome! This is a scary situation for me!...

Semaglutide

Anyone here had experience of Semaglutide? I've been offered a slot on a trial (double-blind) on a "Research Study to Investigate How Well Semaglutide Works in People Living With Heart Failure and Obesity (STEP-HFpEF)" and am inclined to take it.

Will they let me complete CPET test if I start having NSVT?

Hello all,

Yes I know I have been a question maniac lately and I apologize!  I just have a lot going on, trying to talk to my partner about stuff is like trying to explain calculus to a five year old.  He is smart just doesn't understand all the cardiac stuff, y'all are my people!

I got my CPET moved to the 16th, but I got curious on whether or not they will cut me short if I start having runs of NSVT?  I really need the data from the test as a prognostic ma...

Unexpected side effect of weight loss -- just venting

So, I saw the Heart Transplant team last September and they said I pass all their tests for progressing to the next stage of assessment except for my BMI (and eliminating amyloidosis as a cause of the problem). I needed to lose 6kg (13lb) and be signed off by the National Amyloidosis Centre [NAC] before they would move me on.

Not a given I'll decide to go for it -- major surgery, and I'm not sure I've got the support they want -- I live alone for example 75 miles from...

Not sure what to think

Warrning long post but I need advice. I am a 41 y/o female who was sent to a cardiologist for abnormal EKG and elevated heart rate at resting. So echo cardiogram, stress test, holter monitor came back normal. King of hearts showed that I had a resting heart rate of 112. The cardiologist at the time decided to refer me over to an electrophysiologist. With that appointment the whole 5 seconds he spend in the room stated my blood pressure was to low and if I can get my blood pressure up then my...

second dose Moderna, new cardilogist

The only problem that i have is a sore muscle in my left arm.  Thought that might happen again.  Since i sleep mostly on right side, thought left would be better.

Was a little  nervous about getting the shot before my checkup with the cardiologist the next day.  All went well.  Did get his permission to change doctors.  In fact he likes the one i picked.  Told him since he might be retiring soon. in practice by himself.  Would be good to do this n...

LVAD and Transplant criteria-EF fraction?

Hey all,

I know there aren't specific LVEF benchmarks for LVAD and transplant list because each case is evaluated on a number of criteria, but I am curious if anyone on here has been put on the list or received an LVAD and what their LVEF was at the time?  If you want to include the other conditions that were included for the decision that would be helpful as well.  Anything specific to dialated cardiomyopathy, complete heart block, and severity of RV systolic function, ar...

Weaned and off Meds

Per last doctor's visit, after complaining about abdominal distress over the past year from probable Metoprolol, the doctor had me weaned off the medication. For the year I was on 12.5 mg of the medication daily along with aspirin (81mg). For one week the doctor had me take the half tab once every other day and then stop for a 3 week period. I had my last administration metoprolol on a Wednesday evening. That Friday and Saturday I had some chest discomfort primarily in the form of pressur...

Migraine - Verapamil?

Does anyone else get migraines/headache as a side effect of verapamil (Isoptin) my headaches seem to be more severe since going back on Isoptin, i flagged this with my Cardiologist and Neurologist but both were rather dismissive. Cardiologist changed my meds by reducing my amiodarone and adding back in Verapamil in March last year and since then i have had almost daily migraine. I have been on Botox for migraine since 2015 but this has now no effect. Whilst my heart numbes seem good at t...

Prominent heart beats

Hi.  Does anyone take medication to quiten down a prominent heartbeat. I got my 4th pacemaker implant last october and felt not too bad until a few weeks ago. Now I'm having periods of my heart thumping hard and not sure if device is capable of doing this or it's a heart issue.  Hospital technician reduced the sensitivity and reaction but it's still happening.  GP is carrying out a 24hr BP monitor as my diastolic pressure was going quite high. I didn't know if h...

What to do while waiting

I have my surgery scheduled 3 days out. My problem is my BPM numbers drop into the mid/upper 30's every time I sit for a few minutes. If I lay down or stand up and walk it is fine, but if I sit it soon drops. Any ideas on how to not pass out over the next 3 days?

NSVT and Exercise

Hi everyone I hope you are all well,

Just looking for some reassurance really, today I went to the hospital for my pre-op admission tests ready for my procedure next week. During the treadmill test in October I had a 7 beat run of non-sustained Ventricular Tachycardia. My surgeon/doctor has said this is not a big issue and something they will monitor. He said he is not worried by it but I have had a few short runs of NSVT on my pacemaker interrogations, lasting between 3...

Risk factors

We've had several posts questioning if having a pacemaker constitutes a risk factor for Covid19.

Since I am in the age group to be vaccinated now, last night I made a vaccination appointment through our local health department. After the ususual data collecting questions about age, DOB, and address, the form listed risk factors and asked me to check off all the conditions I had.

What intersted me most about the list** was what wasn't there
