Svt return

Hi all, 

I had my post-check-up,3rd since pacemaker implant in January 2021,(Sick Sinus Syndrome), and was surprised to learn my SVT had returned with a vengeance, unbeknownst to me! I recorded 119 SVT's in three months' time.

Out of 119 recordings, I have only felt about 6 actual SVT, which is odd as when I had my first SVT bouts back in the day, I felt them all.  ( I had an ablation 7 years ago for SVT.)

Has anyone had a CT angiogram coronary test? They inject a dye, then get pictures if arteries in heart! Was it invasive?

Update on heart tests

I had cardiac biopsies, tested my RV lead to make sure it is functioning properly and will administer a shock (lead my have a fracture as my voltage is low and variable), did right heart cath to check pressures in chambers, and inspected valves.  

12 cardiac biopsies have been sent to 3 labs.  One specific lab works on genetics.  One lab will corraborate with the biopsies taken a few years ago through a German study.  My EP is excited and hopefuly they will find out...

MRI

Lenox Hill Radiology in Lynbrook called and told me cannot perform MRI of right hip due to Biotronic Endora 8 DR-T pacemaker but they did MRI's last year.  Does anyone know of a MRI ctr in Nassau that will perform that MRI with my pacemaker?

pacemaker and valves

I have had a pacemaker for a little over 20 years, I have now been diagnosed with severe Tricuspid leakage, the doctor has also said that I have Pulmonary Hypertension. The doc. said for me to take a diuretic, which I took for 3 days and on the third day i got an aura migraine.  So, I quit that drug.  I was supposd to take tha drug for 2 months and then get an echo.

PSVTs

Just saw my results from a Holter monitor test. Only significant finding is PSVTs. I can't remember having seen that finding before. 

I have a history of PVC induced PMT (pacemaker mediated tachycardia.) Here's my question. Would PSVTs indicate that PMT is happening again?

Today had the MRI with pacemaker.  Medtronic tech came in a put in safe mode.  After came back and put me where the pacemaker should be at 60.

Found had another torn meniscus.   My second one in 2 years.  Guess will not be dancing the jig just yet.

Are night "episodes" of increased HR normal?

A month after implant surgery, mostly at night but sometimes during the day, I'm experiencing episodes of elevated pulse with no physiological cause. 

My pulse abruptly goes from 65 (base rate) to 90-100 for periods of 2-5 mins, perhaps 8-10 X a night. These episodes involve more than just increased BPM: it feels like my heart is 'pounding' and it wakes me up. AZURE pacemaker and MRI

Hi all,

Long story short, I now need a special MRI scan called a Enterography of the small bowel. I really need to know what is going on with my constant lower abdominal pain so really need to have this.

My pacemaker is an AZURE surescan MRI pacemaker. Will this be straight forward for the hospital to complete the scan? It is a huge hospital which also completes pacemaker implants.

Diabetes has resolved!

About the same time (2 years ago) that I started having fatigue and bradycardia I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I worked hard at controlling calories and carbs, lost nearly 70 pounds and was able to keep my HgbA1c at 5.4 (just barely out of diagnostic range for diabetes). Biopsy scheduled

My EP has scheduled me for a biopsy in mid November.  My heart function and echo has changed since mid June, including additional thickening and stiffening and a change of movement in the septum wall.  He spent 2 hours doing the echo, working with the tech and many times doing the imaging himself, having his med students write down areas to biopsy.  What a difference with him doing it at the hospital, as when it is done in the office he will pop in and out between pat...

Hi hope everyone is well and enjoying the late sunshine in the UK.

BP measurement

Sharing my experience this morning - went for an echo - as far as I could tell it all seemed same as last time - then as soon as done, echo tech said, now I'm going to take your BP.  Tech instructed me to rise from my prone position and sit on the side of the exam bench with my feet dangling, arm resting on bench beside me. My saga continues

First, I should say that I continue to feel very well. I still walk almost every day, I'm able to do some minor home improvements, and I rest when I need to. Doctor has said a-fib is only evident a tiny percentage of the time.

ENTRESTO Is it beneficial and what about cost?

I have been prescribed ENTRESTO by my cardiologist. In trying to fill the prescription I find out I have to pay $426 for my first 90 days 2x, this is $300 to meet a brand name deductible, then $126 to fill the script and thereafter. That's a lot for me. My questions- 1. In your experience is it worth it?  2. What are you paying for it? I have Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction and apparently ENTRESTO is the only approved treatment for it, thanks for any advice.<...

Hydroxyzine?

Hello all,

i was prescribed Hydroxyzine shortly after my pacemaker surgery as a primary doctor noticed that I was showing signs of anxiety during my bandage removal visit and she said they'd be completely fine with all of the heart stuff that I have gone through (pacemaker almost 2 weeks ago and a mechanical valve in Jan of 2020).

If I was to ask a cardiologist at the hospital whether they ruled out the possibility I have Cardiac Sarcoidosis what answer would I be expecting to hear to confirm they had?

In other words what test is done to rule it out completely?

Low crcl; further investigation?

I was seen on the 19th for my follow up. I received a mostly good report. I am only being paced 7% in the atrium, but he still insists the pacemaker was an absolute necessity. I am having bouts of fast rates (somewhere in the 200 range), but am assuming it is a regular rhythm or not much he is concerned with as he still wants to hold off on meds.

Left Ventrical Ejection Fraction

Had a post-Pacemake MRI yesterday--one more attempt to try to figure out why I have a blockage that required a pacemaker. No answers on that front.

But, my left ventrical EF was 45%, less than ideal. During the testing before my ultrasound, they estimated EF to be 60%. I know the ultrasound is less accurate, but anyone have experience with readings from the MRI?
