Hello groovey people in Pacemaker world. Im 49 yrs old and about to get a Pacemaker implant for the first time. Im still getting my head around this new world. But thanks to you and some research Im feeling more comfortable and positive about the future.
My question is what to do about MRIs? I have some other issues like Radial, Cubital and Carprel Tunnel. And seem to be an MRI addict as I get them nearly every year. What do I do now wi...
I wanted to get an automatic vacuum, the one that cleans the floor it’s self and when it is low on battery it automaticity goes to its base (that is plugged in before) to recharge.
Will the Automatic vacuum intervene with a pacemaker?
Thanks for your comments. In answer to your questions, I know 1200 jules is a lot. I don't know what exactly they did, I just heard the doctor say turn it to 1200 jules before they did it.
I don't know if it hurt my pacemaker,I doubt it. But I have I have been feeling a buzzing sensation coming from the pacemaker and mild lightheadedness.[
Just looking ahead and wondering how I would check the "magnetism" of a room. I work in an industrial processing plant that has an electrical room where the main and secondary controls are. There are other electrical banks and panels in there along with control charts that I change on a daily basis. I'd like to find out this info in case I end up getting a pm.
Inside the facility there are large pieces of equipment powered by large motors some...
My Medtronic device was replaced sept17 from dual to a single chamber. Since May I have been experiencing up to 170 BPM to a low of 35. My pacemaker is set to 60 as resting. These irregularities seem to happen mostly early morning around 4:00 a.m. until perhaps 10:00. the rest of the day is relatively normal.
With the dual chamber things ran smoothly but a resulting infection necessitated the total removal and replacement.
My meds are Bisoprolol 5mg and this week started taking El...
anyone on this site weld with having an implant? ive had my defibulator since 2012 and havent welded since. really would love to start making my own repairs again. thanks
So been thinking about getting my forklift operators license. However I am worried that there could be issues driving one. I am 100% paced but have 3rd degree av block. I am about to be 30 I .Good health besides the pacemaker
So where I work they use generators. Anyone know if that would affect my pacemaker? Not 100% paced and have 3rd degree ac block.
I have wireless surround headphones for my pc and ps4. Both trip my pacemaker and put me into asynchronous test mode. Makes me feel yucky. My wired surround headphones and my PS virtual reality visor with headphones doesn't affect me at all because they're wired. Why is that and would all wired headphones be safe to use?
My implant was done in March 2017. About 4-5 months later I have been seeing huge beautiful blue
halos around the moon and other types of lights, as well as huge rainbow coloured halos
around street and dusk to dawn lights. My vision is not in any way affected by these nightly
halos., Please advise whether this is normal or should I be concerned.
I live in AZ where as you may know they are doing a lot of testing of autonomous cars (self driving). I can't help but notice pretty much anywhere I go here one of those driverless cars shows up. Do you think my CRT-D might be emitting a signal that's attracting them?
I got a different pasemaker 2 years ago. I have had focus issues with my DSLR since I got this new model pacemakr. I have sent my camera in for repair several times ...no problem found. just got back from vacation and and all 3000 images are useless.
Any one heard of this kind of problem.
I just got the camera back last night from repair. MY camera and lenses working fine. I will run some tests from from varius distances with a remote shutter release to see how far away I can be a...
I have recently had a pacemaker fitted ( 7 weeks ago) and every time I go near the dryer in my kitchen, it lights up and makes the noises it usually makes when programming it. Is this normal? At the moment my children find it quite amusing but I am starting to worry that it will interfere with my pacemaker
Dear fellow members,
Anybody out there having a permanent PM with MRI compatible and working in high voltage switchgear room, electric motors, power turbines, welding activitied, and UPS system?. I have just my PM (MRI COMPATIBLE) implantation last 2 weeks and I was been declared unfit by my company Doctor to work again as I will considered to be a high risk in working environment.
Thank you in advance for all the comments.
I am a 56 years old, offshore worker working as Elect'l and Inst. Technician in oil and gas installation with a symptomatic slow heart rate which will go down to 25BPM. Usually my working environment are mostly in switchgear room with 35KV power supply, welding environment, Unterruptible power supply and oil and gas platform. Two weeks after my PM implantation ( MEDTRONIC, MODEL ENSURA DR MRI SURE SCAN, MRI COMPATIBLE. I undergo for my company required annual...
I have a PM and I am now 100% paced. I fly ultralight aircraft from time to time. I have checked power ratings for comms radio and transponder and concluded that the radio at 7W will not cause an interference problem but the transponder at 130W would be a problem. I no longer fly in aircraft where a transponder is fitted or I make sure it is turned off. Has anyone else come across this issue ?
I know this has been covered before (I've read a few topics) but I just wanted to share my experience.
Shortly after my pacemaker implant (100% dependant - my former doc accidentally ablated my AV node... another story for another time) I got a new job. It started out as a desk/IT job. Any electrical work was low-voltate or data/signal cabling. Once my boss realized I know electrical, he asked me if I would take the test to be a licensed electrician (Lake County, IN) and... I am in...
I was recently replacing some common houshold outlets with new ones when I accidentallty got a pretty good shock. It arced my pliers pretty good a caused a lot of sparking and smoke. I recollected my nerves and went on to replace several others. Well I managed to shock myself again, but the usual vibrating type of sensation that you immediately pull back from. It may just be coincidence, but later that evening I began feeling sick to the point where my body ached all over....
The Kardiaband clearly states Do Not use if you have a pacemaker or an ICD. I HAVE THE AliveCor mobile device and I have had it for years, never a problem with it or my cell phone. Many of these warnings are just the manufacturer covering their butts from law suits.
My instinct says there won’t be a problem but the Apple Watch is a$300 plus investment and the KardiaBand another$199. Does anyone have any issues using these devices?
i ignore all the warnings on...
The various Dyson vacum cleaners seem to have magnets in their motor. I am trying to find out if
their magnetic fieisld presents a risk to PM? Anyone have any experience or information on that topic? Thanks
