Mobile Phone Batteries

Hello all

I've recently used my mobile phone against my left ear (done this 3 or 4 times now) and have noticed that the phone battery drains and goes dead within seconds. This doesn't happen when i use the phone against my right ear.

Has anybody come across this and does anybody know whether this is detrimental to my PM

Cheers

Dave

airport scanners

About these scanners.  Adelaide, South Australia only has old type.  So on Sunday I take daughter to catch a flight and after reading here that it is no big deal to go through scanner I though I would just do it.  I had my card in my hand ready to explain in case I 'beeped'.  A female officer stopped me, asked if I had a pacemaker.  She then said I could not walk through and would have to have the 'pat down' (which I have always had previously.)  ...

MRSA

I am 19, and have had an ICD since I was 15. I haven't had many episodes since. Recently I've gotten another MRSA boil on my breast right above my pacemaker. My immune system isn't at its best and this will be not the first time I've had MRSA. Is the location of this boil to be worried about? I am not sure what to think and do not want to worry myself. I am trying to get an appointment with my primary but they have yet to get back to me.

Wrist BP cuffs

Have a question about wrist BP cuffs. I went to get my eyes checked today. The young girl put a wrist BP cuff on me and told me to place my wrist on the left side of my chest. She new I had a pacemaker and asked me if it would bother it. I didn't think so, but began to try to think if there was anything in it that would. Anyway it didn't take the first time so she took it off and put it back on an had me place it directly over my device. I told her I just didn't feel comfortable h...

EMP's and ICD's

Does anybody know how an Electromagnetic pulse would affect a person with an ICD. I am scheduled for an implant on November 01,2017 and am getting cold feet based on the increased risk that North Korea has the ability and the motive to set off an EMP.

My ejection fraction rate is 30-35% but I feel okay when I excersise.  I also have a sinus bunble block and have gone into A-fib a couple of times which really weakens my heart.

I read somebody's comment who said a...

Can i visit a silicon plant?

Has anyone ever visited a silicon plant?  I work in an aluminium smelter and I have not been able to go into the plant since I had my pm fitted.  I want to viist a silicon plant but note part of the process involves electric current to produce an arc.    "A typical batch contains 1000 lb (453 kg) each of gravel and chips, and 550 lb (250 kg) of coal. The lid of the furnace, which contains electrodes, is placed into position. Electric current is passed...

Pacemaker & Sports watch heart rate function

I had a 2 lead pacemaker fitted on 23rd January 2017 age 70.

I have competed in Running events, Duathlons, Triathlons a few times a year since my late forties. About 6 years ago I started  getting "light headed feelings briefly" when excercising. I ad a series of heart tests which ended in being told, "Anyone who can stay on the treadmill for over 14mins at my age has no problems". However I reduced my exercise but found the frequency of my feelings increased wh...

Pacemaker Interference From People Who Stop Watches

So....just connected via phone with a girlfriend from long ago. She wants to visit and

having heard I have a pacemaker, wanted to know.....since she's one of those people on whom every watch she ever tries to wear stops within minutes.........is it possible she'd influence my pacemaker if she put her head on my chest?

I've read sites with people with this issue, and the cause is not clear, but there seem to be lots of theories about some people'...

Power Lines?

Hi all...I still do not have a PM, but the idea is not off the table. I do find myself still searching for "why" this a-fib/flutter decided to land on me at the age of 44. Along with mild CHF and secondary pulmonary hypertension following a mini-maze procedure....which didn't cure the fib/flutter.  I just re-read my bio and see I need to add 3 more cardioversions since April of this year, brininging my total to 23/24. Losing track, ha! Almost everyone I know asks me wh...

Pacemakers and alarm systems

Hi everyone, a newbie here. But I am so worried I am looking for any advice available.

One month ago I was purchasing a new motorbike, a Kawasaki GTR1400 (Concours 14 in the US) as I had had an earlier bike stolen I was determined to make my new purchase as theft proof as possible.

I was delighted to find that Kawasaki had installed their own alarm / immobiliser known as KIPASS.

However after some extensive reading regarding this system I find that a warning is listed regard...

Vibration

Selwin, , Thank you so much for your response. This is the 2 Nad Day that it is vibrating. I called Medtronic but they said they were not allowed to give out any medical info. The Rep at the doctors office said he had never heard of this occurring with the Medtronic devices. I will schedule an appointment with the cardiologist, my only concern was if this was perhaps a normal occurrence. Thank you again😊😊😊
