I'm unable to find an individual reply button for resposes to my question from yesterday, so I'll just send a big "Thank you" to Tracy E, Lavender, Agent 86x and Old Male for all the great advice. It's very helpful. If anyone out there can point me to a "reply" button here, please pass it along.

I had a pacemaker put in November 27, 2022. I have a medtronic model W1DRO1 with 2 leads. Does anyone out there have a problem with their pacemaker using a riding lawnmower. I will check with my doctor and see what he says but I was wondering if any of the pacemaker club has had a problem.

Hello all:
I got a Biotronik dual chamber pacemaker implant last Thursday (March 2nd) and I'm still getting familiar with all the does and don'ts of living with it.
What I'm confused about here is the power tool restrictions, mainly gas powered ones. We live on 2 1/2 acres of trees, brush, rocks, critters ( well, you get the picture). I have a gas powered weed whacker, 2 gas powered chain saws, a gas powered pole saw and a multitude of electric power...

We have a NuWave portable induction cooker. My husband is the only one who uses it. It sits on our countertop but is only plugged in when in use. He also buys the specific pans that work with the cook top. If this system is not plugged in can it still cause me a problem if I am near the cook top or the pans which hang above my stove?

For the younger, female members with pacemakers/ ICDs I'm not sure if you've come across the same problems when getting ready to start a family.
If you plan on breastfeeding or expressing then it's recommended you have a breast pump. Newer breast pump designs lean towards being 'in-bra' with the motor sitting on top of the collection cups as a whole unit. This leaves the motor practically resting where a pacemaker or ICD would normally be implanted. Therefore n...

Hello
My mom has tachicardia. She gets tired fast and can't do chores for long. 7 years ago she had ICD installed. She has double chamber pacemaker from St Jude and I think it is model Endurity DR PM2160 or PM2162. I am not sure.
She is currently trialing hearing aid Unitron Moxi B7-R RIC and she experiences increased heart rate and feels not so well only when connected to a tablet through Bluetooth. The hearing aid is at least 16 centimeters away from ICD which is supposed to...

Every day I experience my heart beating really hard for a minute. I know exactly the time it will happen as it is always 23 hours and 59 minutes after last one. I find it quite uncomfortable and need to cough during episode. This has been going on for at least 3 months but could be longer as gets earlier by a minute each night. It is currently at 22.10. I don't want to feel a nuisance ringing the hospital. Should I be concerned?

My PM has been installed for 3 days and I have been reading the Medtronic owners manual. I am a remote pilot and a metal fabricator.
I was wondering if I can buy clothes to protect my PM from interference that comes from the remote controllers that I use to control the drones that I fly during missions. The Medtronic Manual says keep antennas 6 inches away from the PM. Knowing me, I will forget that during most missions because the controller is strapped around my neck.

Hi!
In the school classroom of my child who has a PM there now a new very large Air Purifier, it's built into a high wall-cupboard. I don't worry at all about those small air purifiers in regards to intereferences, but would you check the details of the machine in few of the size? I haven't seen it myself yet, but I'm told it has even exhaust air ducts (correct word? sorry my english)
Thanks!

Hi, I've been advised not to TIG weld with my new pacemaker, but I've seen posts elsewhere which indicate it is OK if you take certain precautions.
I wondered whether the members on here have any relevant information or personal experiences they would like to share?
Thanks

I took a bad fall on the ice and screwed up my rotator cuff in my left shoulder. The orthopedist would like to do an MRI on it but I am Pacemaker dependent. I heard somewhere they would have to turn my pacemaker off in order to do the MRI but I will pass out instantly. is this true and has anyone else done this? my Medtronic pacer and leads are supposed to be MRI proof any comments would be helpful! thanks!!

Hey
I've had a PM/ICD for many years (since 2009). Wonderful devices. I just got the urge to learn guitar and bought my self a Squier Telecaster. It might be in my head but I keep feeling funny (PVCs) while playing sitting with the unhooked up guitar in my lap. Checked the internet and most people say the guitar pickups are too week to have and impact. Anyone have experience here? Is there a way to shield myself from the magnets in the picku...

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
