Svt

I had a successful ablation for svt in May 2019 & a PM fitted  in Sept 2019 for bradycardia . Over the past few weeks  I have noticed my heart attempts to go into svt again, all the old warning signs are there but so far the symptoms have lasted at most 20 seconds or so without  going into a full blown svt. Has anyone else experienced this. I'm getting  a tad breathless with little  exertion at times.es as well. A tad awkward to approach pacing team & GP i...

Hey,

I was hoping to get some of your opinions on what could be going on. I am 20 years old and have had a pacemaker since i was 7 months so I am not new to this or anything, but recently I think my pacemaker has been acting up. My current pacemaker is a ST. Jude and i had it put in Nov. 2017. For the last 2 days my heart rate has been rouly 85-90. Normally my pacemaker keeps me in thw 70s and all the down to 55 at night. Repeated self tests

Ive had my icd implant just over a year.  I still feel pvcs off and on every day.  The issued is from what i can tell is the self test.  The clunic tells me its set for 1:30 in the night.  a couple months ago i noticed a a pattern of very strong pvcs at 5:50 pm every day.  Clinic said that was the self test. Problem is i couldnt get into the clinic because its considered non urgent during this cironavirus pandemic. I sorta got used to it, even though it felt like my h...

Phrenic nerve help

Hi there, 23 year old pacemaker recipient for CHB caused by ablation for SVT. Pacer installed (Medtronic azure mri) late January in the his bundle position. Since the procedure, I have had irritation which at first felt like palpitations but now I think it's my phrenic nerve. This irritation, which feels like a flutter right below my heart, is only when I am in certain positions like bending over or when I yawn, laugh or do anything strenuous. It is really taking a damper o...

Abdominal Pacemakers, pregnancies and water births......oh my?

Hi!!

Noob and former message board lurker here! I've found a few posts about pregnancy and pacemakers but not quite what I was looking for. I have 3 questions and any opinions would be great. I had a plan to discuss with my doctor but given the current situation with the coronavirus my appt has been postponed to TBD...and I'm super curious about getting SOME idea of people's experiences. Ok, background: I have full heart block and am 100% pacemaker dependent. I had the first...

Malfunctioning Pacemaker?

Hello all! I am having issues with my pacemaker that was implanted in December 2019.

A little background on me: I was diagnosed with a complete (3rd degree) heart block in August of 2016 during a sports physical EKG. I was generally asymptomatic other than a low HR (resting at about 50, max about 120). I am a 21 year old Division I athlete, and had no prior issues completing vigorous workouts such as weightlifting, interval training, and long runs.

After the pacemaker...

Sudden Sore Pain in SubPec Pacemaker Implant after 1 year?

I had my first pacemaker placed in March 2019. I am a 38year old female. I woke up last night with a dull soreness at my pacemaker site. I thought I had been sleeping on it funny, so adjusted. The pain continued and this morning, it still is sore, and definitely noticed the pain when changing my toddler's diaper. Could this be something I caused by sleeping on it wrong? I have been fully recovered for a while now.

Heart failure?

I went to see my cardiologist for a normal check up and when I went he got really concerned when he did my ekg. He went and had me do a stress test and a echo after to see what was happening. He said he thinks I'm going into heart failure. He altered some of the settings on my pacemaker and he gave me a new medication to try for a month. He says right now he can't tell if it is my afib or if it is my heart going into failure. I'm really hoping it's just my afib.

Pressure in chest

Went to Cardiologist in Sept because I was having times when I felt like someone was stepping on my chest.  I am a tennis instuctor and exercise at least three times a week with weights twice a week.  Like may of you I was pretty surprised I could have anything wrong with (me at all) my heart.  After 6 months and multiple Drs, the Cardiologist I went to for the second opinion diagnosed me with Symptomatic Bardycardia or Sinus Node Dysfunction (he used them interchangeably...

Pacemaker Implant

I currently have a Medtronic DTMA1D1 3-lead PM. The third lead is functionally "dead." EP recently tried but failed - due to my hearts anatomy - to install a new lead by coming in from the right side. His bundle pacing attempt also failed.  If I could get my left and right ventricles more synchronized, perhaps I'd feel better.  Next step would be the epicardial approach. EP has suggested a surgeon in his group that can perform this surgery via the "keyho...

Certainly a very minor question, in view of all the Covid-19 concerns. Does anyone have up-to-date info on effects of induction cooking and your pacemaker. Latest info on site is 4 years old.

In November, 2019, before surgery I had an echocardiogram. I had a St. Jude Pacemaker inplanted. It had two leads, one to the lower right chamber and the second to communicate to the upper chamber. I was placed on blood thinner. Upon return to the hospital in December, I was echocardiogramed again and cardioverted. In late Feburary I had one of my follow up medical appointments. I was removed from meds. I don't know why the doctor did not say anything before but during this...

Pacemaker? Leads?

Kind of a summary of my recent Cath Lab event with my EP and his assistants;

Indications:  Left ventricular dyssynchrony

Conclusion: Unsuccessful attempt of LV lead implant or His bundle pacing from the right subclavian vein. Consider epicardial LV lead placement.

Procedure: "Attempt LV lead implant. Patient was taken to the EP lab. Venogram was performed which demonstrated patent right subclavian vein. Patient was prepped and draped in sterile fashion. Vanco...

Old Pacemaker Scar on Stomach - feels like it’s tearing...

Hello everyone!

i'm really happy to have found this site. My name is Jordan, and I was born with Complex Congential Heart Disease. As such, I've had many pacemakers throughout my life - if I had to give a rough estimate, I had about 5 temporary ones (all in my stomach) before I was 3 years old. Upon turning 3 I was flown to Mott's Children's Hospital in Michigan and had a surgery known as the "Double Switch" performed on me. Honestly, I don't even truly und...

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
