Hello everyone!
It was announced recently that Phillips has recalled a lot of their sleep apnea machines. Apparently the abatement foam is causing some kind of cancer. I contacted the VA today to see what I should do and I was told to stop using it immediately until they come up with a solution. I'm sure they have some kind of contract with Phillips so the turn around time could take quite a while. I am concerned because I have severe sleep apnea and it's probably the...

Ok so over 2 weeks abdominal explant and the shoulder sub muscular placement of my icd. All the swelling is gone and it's healed up wonderfully. Problem is the dang thing hurts anytime I move my arm/shoulder, try to lay on that side etc. Docs say it's my small frame and that I am just going to be uncomfortable until it comes out. Using ice packs and Tylenol but it seems to be getting worse not better, for example muscle cramping around the shoulder joint.  ...

Hi I got my first pacmaker last week and got some very strange sore throat that won't go away. It's almost as if it was bruised in my throat during the surgery but it's a feeling like I have never experienced before and I am wondering if anyone has had this, if anyone knows what it is, and whether or not I should be worried about it.
Thankyou

Is it possible for a pacemaker to turn off by its self just for a few seconds I felt very weired yesterday again few seconds but it felt exactly the same as when they turn it off in clinic during the test, spent rest of the morning having a huge anxiety attack and sent home from work 😒

’m still waiting for my next cardiologist appointment hopefully in the next few weeks , Recentyly my pain has been increasing by my pm, it started as a very mild discomfort on the left edge , every day gets more painful especially after I’ve been reaching up or been more active at home , nothing too strenuous , it’s been 6 months since it was fitted . Today I was walking slowly to take my daughter to the park, only up a slight slope , I’ve felt a couple of tugs is...

I have an oximeter which measures my heart. I noticed that my heart rate went up when I did a casual exercise like raising my arms slowly forward and sideways. I experinmented. It only happened when I did it with my left arm, the Pacemaker side, but not on my right. It would shoot up by 25-30 beats. I've had it in for 3 months. It would also do it the gym with certain upper body exercises, and once on the treadmill when I had my left arm up on the back of the machine.
Should I...

My pacemaker moved out of place. It is causing me problems. Pain, nausea, and what feels like electric shocks. I saw an urgent care doctor who contacted my Electrophysiologist. I am told to wait until my next scheduled appointment which is 6 weeks out. I believe this is due to the insurance I carry. I fall between not healthy enough to work (I had a very physically demanding job) and not urgent enough to be seen immediately.
Did any of you ever have your pacemaker move out o...

Hi guys, quick question I had my pacemaker installed in October 2019 and have not had any complications since. But in the last month or so I have been experiencing heart fluttering when using my left arm to drive or basically anytime it is extended or when using it even to just curl my hair. I do have an appoitment to get this checked out but was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this. Feedback would be greatly appriciated.
Thank you!

I have gone back in 3 times in the last 5 days to have them adjust the vector in my crt d. Every time they find one that works by the end of the day it starts stimulating my diaphragm again. They say it's because I am so skinny, but I NEVER had this problem with my other devices and leads. Granted there are more leads now and in new places. They are hoping it wil "settle" into place and eventually stop moving to stimulate different areas. It's n...

I have posted on this forum in the past since receiving my dual chamber implantable device more than 3 years ago. Form the beginning, it became plausible that they may have made a mistake. I was found not to have the diagnosis (SSS) that paved the way for the original unit. Furthermore, my EP determined that I was symptomatic when my PM was pacing, despite my periodic slow beat. Also, the rate response setting was throwing me into Ventricular Tachycardia on a repeated basis....
Why is my HR 110 at rest and 70 on exertion ? I have HF many years and have a CRTD.

I notice that my BP is low when my pulse is high which makes it difficult to take beta blockers. Tried Ivabradine which didn't work. Awaiting Holter & Echo. Only noticed this particular problem last few weeks. CRTD settings not been changed. 10 min walk reduced HR by 40bpm but only lasts about 45 mins then it's back up to 110. Seems odd. Maybe a simple explanation ?

Roger A, I've had my p/m since August 2019 and about March of this year I had the same sensation of movement as you. The device had moved to near the underarm area. My cardiologist said it wasn't uncommon and advised leaving it there and to just be advised that if it starts flipping to seek medical attention sooner rather than later. I have had no further issues and am keeping fingers crossed it behaves. Best of luck to you! benedeni

I woke up this morning feeliing that my device has moved to the left closer to my armpit, I am not sure if this is normal, I had my device impplanted on 3/15/21, so is this normal? Anyone experienced this slipping device?
Also, lately I have been feeling for the past 3 to 4 nights, my heart rate is going bananas, it beats violantly, I feel that I need to take fast breaths and move my body slightly to get it to slow down, my pacemaker is working I can tell but these heartbeats are strang...

My abdominal pocket where my crt-p was extracted from. It is extremely swollen but glued shut with no redness or fever so they will not give me antibiotics?! I don't see the rational behind this, even if it is not infected surely a course of antibiotics to be safe isn't going to hurt me, whereas not treating it if it is infected could kill me! Anywho, take a look at the picture infected or not infected? Also want to repeat that there is no device in this...

My husband began having bouts of extreme virtigo with light nausea yesterday. His blood pressure was 125/76 and heart rate was 60. When he begins to change his head position a very fast, almost instant debilitating vertigo occured several times. His pacemaker HR is set to 60, so of course that is the lowest it can go. Later in the day after I helped him get out of bed, his HR was around 76 when he moved around. Could this be presyncope. We called the EP nurse and she doesn't think it is P...

Hello everyone,
Well for the second time I admit myself to the hospital for retaining too much water, about a month or so ago I was not able to breath normal, it was a restricted breathing, it turned out that I retained water then. Yesterday I did the same, my belly was bigger than ever and hard, felt like there is a ton of fluids in there, and it was, also my lower abdomen and legs, at the hospital they gave me Lasix 60mg shot to bring the fluids out of me.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
