Acid reflux

This is kev-o, met with the person that does the interrogations again yesterday, and all is ok with the pm. However I am still experiencing a flutter in my diapraghm(which they felt) and severe GERD(reflux). Card. DR.was busy so suggested I go to an after hours care to get a strong med for stomach. The dr. @ the place would not see me due to PM! Suggested E.R. because there could be serious problems with leads. The upper chamber is the only one pulsing. They did turn off the PM for a minute and...

Went to cardiologist yesterday...

Ok, so I finally went to see what's up with this darned thing. I gave the nurse and the interrogation guy all my symptoms, including the heavy beats and the feeling of an adreneline rush, but they didn't say anything about that which really ticked me off. Anyway, both of them say it's moved, but the doctor I saw who is not my normal cardiologist says it hasn't, but he told me that my leads were at the end of where they should be. The doctor told me to take ibuprophen for two weeks and if it does...

Still fighting reflux

Thanks to everyone who offered such great advice previously. I had an interogation appointment on July 18, 2008. The meeting was ok, and they reset the Pulse and Sense config. to Bipolar and reset the autocapture to off. the only thing still unipolar is the lead type. These settings helped but throat and neck was sore. The reflux or GERD whichever it is is still with me. I have since tried to get in to see a gastro specialist, first I had to be referred by my reg. GP. then they could not see me i...

is this normal cont'd.

Thankyou TraceyE, Debbie and Chris. This site is great! To answer some of your questions, I'm 55yo woman, was very active farming a large garden when a month ago I just started to run out of steam. Thought it might be menopausal sx, went to the free medical clinic (have no insurance). I hadn't seen a Dr in about 3 years. They said my pulse was running about 36 and shipped me directly to Intensive Care for 3 days. Totally unexpected. They said I have a 2nd degree block in my lower chamber, so...

In need of information

Hi,
It has been a while since I have posted. I have a St. Jude's pacer that was installed in 2006 due to a botched ablation for correcting WPW. The Dr. burned through my av node and I am in permanant 3 degree heart block. W/o pacer, I am at 38 bpm. I just met with St. Jude's for my annual 2 months ago and have my phone in check last week.
I have had what feels like a change in rhythm? But I am not sure what that would feel like. I have this sensation where there is a off beat in...

Depressed

Hey guys. Did my teletrace yesterday and when my mom went to put the magnet on, she got worried because it was almost under my arm. She thinks it slipped, so she's going to try to get a hold of my regular doctor to see what's up. It's kind of believable since I lost a lot of weight and it's been bothering me. Oh well, things happen! If I didn't have incredible friends like you guys, I'd probably lose it! :)

Stinging sensation

Can someone please answer a question for me? I had my pacemaker implanted 4 weeks ago.

Several days ago I started experiencing a stinging sensation on the left side of it. The stinging increases when I move my arm up or if I extend it in front of me.

I can't prop up on this arm while lying down.

Is this normal or should I contact my doctor?

thank you, thes0wer

Side Convulsion

Hello,
I am 25 years old and had my pace maker implanted on July 16th. Starting the day I had the pace maker implanted I have been experiencing a large contraction on the right side of my body. I have called my cardiologist twice and they aren't concerned. I have also seen a different cardiologist who took chest x-rays and believes that my leads may be stimulating my diaphragm. He said it "wasn't serious." I am very frustrated because I don't feel like anyone has aknoweldge how frustra...

PM has moved....After over a year

I have noticed in the past week that my PM has moved or turned. It was put in June 11,2007. I called my doctors nurse and she said that it isn't unusual for this to happen but to keep an eye on it, just don't touch it. She said she would stop in and see me when I come to have my next stress test.

What could have caused this to hapen now? I haven't done anything unusual. Ths morning before I got up I was lying on my side and felt a bit of uncomfortable pain coming from the PM pocket.

Infection and ex-plant and new implant

Hello,

Over the past month I've been on 2 external pacemakers and have had 2 permanent ones implanted. I have a level 3 heart block as a result from a septal myomectomy and valve transplant. I then developed a staph infection on my first pacer and am being treated for endocarditis.

So, I am familiar with what the pacemakers should feel like. On the first 3 (1 permanent, one venous and one external through the chest), I was demand paced and kept a comfortable rhythm between...

Why? Only lower rate is set at 60. Not higher one I thinkDetection rate says 180 is that mine or set one?

my baby and his pacemaker

hi. I've written before on parents and kids site. Has anyone had trouble after their pacemaker with infection on the cut or fluid around the heart. My baby is back in hospital yet again with fluid around the heart and they don't know if its infection or a reaction to the tape being attached to the heart. I'm so worried for him. Thanks to you all xxx

Fainted

PM checked and its ok. One wk post op. Fainted after dinner while laying down. They do not seem to know why. I did this due to fainting. Did I put this pm in me for nothing? Now I worry I will continue to faint and be stuck with this in chest. Maybe wrong diagnosis. Heart rate was 19 bpm on monitor before surgery.

shoulder pain

I am a physical therapist with a pt that I am seeing for a second time for shoulder pain, but it is evident that her pain stems from her PM, as it moves with her shoulder, it seems to be adhered to the pectoralis muscle. The stretches and moist heat help but the relief tends to be temporary and the pain never goes completely away. Does anyone have any suggestions, any stretches? I am at the point of asking my pt to consider a second medical opinion since her MD wants to ignore the problem. I ha...
