I have sinus block -- both nodes -- and have had two different Biotronik pacers -- first a Philos then a Protos DR with CLS. I am a runner and had all sorts of problems. My Bp was high -- then low -- pacing was all over the place. The local cardiologist gave up and I finally went to a University Hospital. The doc there got on the phone with Biotronik and after 2 hours finally figured out that the CLS feature was in conflict with the motion detector. So he turned off the CLS -- this was two y...

hi all, I had to go to the hospital today because my nurse called my cardiologist and told him I've had some "zinging" sensations and my arm is somewhat discolored and swollen and hurts in a few places if you press on it. I don't have a bloodclot, but I need to find out what this is. Has anyone else ever had this?
Thank you.

I've had my pacemaker for a year now. I recently went for a pacer check, and they asked me if I had been feeling alright,I told them I had been feeling some palpitations once in a while but I didn't think it was anything to worry about. Of course I now know it is. I have a pretty good amount of medical knowledge but tis thing just baffles me. Turns out that a pacemaker won"t do anything for SVT's (seems I was having quite a few svt's(supraventricular tachycardia)). They then put me on beta - bl...

I have to go in this Thursday to have my pacer repositioned.....it started flipping around in there and now the leads are twisted. Anyone else ever had this happen and if so is the surgery as bad as when they first implant it?? Also do they cut over the same scar or will I have to have another one?

I talked to my EP's nurse today. She suspects that I am feeling the pacing mechanism of my PM. I find this odd since I've never felt it before. It is also odd to me that this all started after I went for my interrogation a few weeks ago. They must have made some changes. The nurse said my EP is out of town until the end of the week. She is supposed to be getting together my settings printout and all that stuff. I'm wondering if I'm trying to go into a-fib more often or something and I'm feeling...

Hey, Mom finally called the cardiologist for my test results! The good news is, I'm fine. The bad news is, they didn't find anything and now I have to live with the uncomfortable-ness (is that a word???) Anyway, so many wanted to know, so there it is.

I went to the ER last night. I kept having this funny feeling in my chest which would seemingly travel up into my neck. I would feel a lot of pressure in my neck and ears and could actually see my neck pulsating. A few times it happened made me feel a little light headed, so my husband and I decided to get in the car and drive 90 miles to the Heart Hospital. Once I got there they did labs, EKG, X-ray, and hooked me up to a monitor. This feeling happened again 3 times while I was there, BUT...

Has anyone experienced muscle spasms in the area around the pacemaker and in the general pectoral muscle area? I have begun experiencing this now 2 years after my device was implanted.

Last April I received a dual pacing device, and an av node ablation for atrial fibrillation and atrial tachycardia. Since the insertion of the pacemaker I began to experience ventricular tachycardia. It is much better controlled now with sotalol, though I still have a 3-5 minute occurrence every few days. These are almost always mid-afternoon soon after I get up from my afternoon rest. They do NOT occur after I get up in the morning. Is this progression familiar to anyone? Were there any solutio...

Is it just me or is anyone else out there experiencing problems and happen to have St June Leads Model 1888TC/52 and/or 1888TC46. Had these leads implanted 7-31-08 and extracted on 9-16-08. Leads were corroded and appeared to have been implanted for years not 6 weeks according to my EP.

There goes my 5k training. Pooh!
Just a little bump in the road. Maybe in a few days, I'll be good to go.
Don't get scared pacer/ICD people.....I also have lung issues from a complicated ablation I had back in April. This setback has nothing to do with my PM. I wish it would do wonders for my lung like it has for my heart rhythm.

After 21 days in hospital and 7 procedures since June, my PM is out for while. I dodged a bullet 3 times, avoiding endocarditis and major infection.
I'm left with a gaping wound under my right clavicle because it couldn't be stitched due to tissue necrosis and scarring. My wonderful wife is left with wound care, which includes packing the "pouch" with 2 feet of gauze soaked in Bernell's Solution. The wound is painful, but looks clean actually. It has never shown any outward signs of...
