To Jessie

I am sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention. I understand that they come to live back home and then leave again. My son and his wife seperated and he and 3 of my grand children 11,4, and 3 came also to stay with us. I was recovering from having my pericardial sac removed at that time. They were here for 6wks. They are in the process of getting a dissolution at this time. But when he moved back out I missed all the long talks we had. He has always been very close to me.I undersatand....

Photo Album?

Hi Everyone and Blake - Wouldn't it be great if we could have a photo album on this website and everyone could submit a picture. I would love to be able to identify more closely with all my friends and pictures would sure help. Is this possible, Blake?

To: Fonia

Hi Fonia: I have had my PM since June 20 -07 and I haven't
had any problem. It would be normal for anyone to be
nervous, inwhich I truly was nervous from the time I was
told that I needed this. I know lots of prayers went up for
me and I truly had total peace on the day of implant. I am
so happy to have the PM as my heart rate was 40-50
and down in the twenties when sleeping. So may God
give you his perfect peace and not the world's peace.
Gene. I w...

Need to talk

I need a 65-70 year old Grandma to talk to about CHF (and have a debrillator/pacemaker). I feel all alone and have been diagnosed since Feb 2005 but was able to serve a mission for my church in Baltimore beginning in April 2006. I am serving in the mission office as the secretary to the President. I am able to keep up but always feel kind of blue and sad and have to fight that continually. I have a hard time concentrating so I don't talk much during the day. My husband tries to understand bu...

Some exciting news

Hi Pacers
Well, a nice thing happened today. We suddenly booked a trip to the mainland to see friends who are moving interstate To Victoria. Yep, you will hear the laughter and chatter way out there when Rewired Aussie and Blue Australia have breakfast together on 5 August. We have to go past Kay's house to where we are going to see our friends. Have also planned three days in kay's area. Guess we just couldn't wait until November to shop and send the guys crazy with our chatting and d...

pacemaker

Gellia & Cathryn thanks so much for your positive comments, it really makes me feel there's hope. I really still have a lot of questions that my doctor doesn't seem to answer really good, I feel like I' m not in good hands with this doctor, so I'm looking for another cardiologist for my next appointment on August.

Have a great day
Debbie

Could this be a good sign?

HI everyone. I can only imagine each of you must be just aching to hear some good news about my situation. I hope this is.

I told myself yesterday I was only going to try one last time with the docs at the current place. This was before I went back to see my internist there--which was yesterday. Well, she has ordered additional lab work to look at muscle enzyme (for damage) and also a CT scan with contrast--which is about as close to venogram I can get without getting one.

IT'S TIME FOR A GOOD HEALTHY LAUGH.

It's been a while since we've had something to laugh about. I hope this little quip makes up for it.

The following quotes were taken from actual medical records dictated by physicians. They appeared in a column written by Richard Lederer, Ph.D. for the Journal of Court Reporting. These and other language gems will be featured in Lederer's new book - Fractured English, to be published by Pocket Books in the fall of 1997.

* By the time he was admitted, his rapid heart h...

"I'm sorry to hear she's been a bit off lately"
Hey, wait a minute; I’m not off! Oh, health wise you mean… :)

First, thank you Cathryn, Jessie, Tammy, and Suze for all the prayers. It truly means a lot to me. Its so good to chat with people on this site, b/c even though the world is psycho and demented, its great to know that there are people who truly care about others, especially if they haven’t even met in person! But then again, some can also be caring and psycho, haha j...

Update--again

Hi everyone,

I wasn't sure if I should post this...I just want everyone on this site to know how much I appreciate all the kind words and encouragement I've been given.

I went to my EP's colleague yesterday to talk about possibly extracting my device and repositioning it on the other side. He said he would do it, but he called the procedure on me "dangerous" and "life-threatening." He made no hesitation to scare the living c__p out of me. I don't want to do anything in this...

TENS and pacemaker

I have a pacemaker placed due to asymptomatic high grade AV block on 6/25/07. I had a lumbar fusion with instrumentation on 1/24/07. I was using a TENS unit for pain control and neuropathy in my leg. Just wondering if anyone knows if it is safe to use my TENS unit with pacemaker.

Very confused and nervous

Hello,
I am a very physically active 48 yr old male. I have been diagnosed with a Bradycardia. I have a resting heart rate of 40-45. I have had a slow rate of 50-58 for 25 years. I am only now becoming symptomatic with dizziness, etc. I enjoy running and can get my heart to respond normally when I start running, but it slows to below normal when I stop. Since I only need help with my resting heart rate, are there clubmembers that can recommend the best PM? Rate responsive? Type of sensor? S...
