I have a Kappa DR 400 pacemaker model KDR 403 installed (I mean implanted) in January due to brady and arhythmia. Have been in for one "tune-up" which made a huge difference in my ability to swim. I wonder if anyone else has experience swimming (3000 to 5000 yards, intervals, very hard at times) with a pacemaker. My surgeon said he chose this model, which is a 1997 model, due to its appropriateness for swimming. Until the tune-up, I could not swim more than 150 yards without resting; after some changes in settings I can now swim just about as far as I wish. Still having some discomfort (feels like fluttering, missed beats, arhyma) when I swim hard. Yesterday I was able to complete a 4000 workout for the first time in nearly 8 years; had no idea how sick I was. Also had to have 4 stents. What settings could be made to make my pacemaker work better for swimming?
