If your dependand on the pacer, I would say yes. The end of the units battery life may be the reason you are feeling that way. Fifteen years....not bad. I'm hoping to get 15-20 out of mine :)

trisha133, another warning besides shortness of breath and being very tired is very hard, obvious heart palpitations. I had all of these. But like I stated in the above comment, I now feel like a new person. Good luck!

ERI (replacement mode)

Probably need to do a pacer check with the cardiologist. Most likely you are going into ERI mode which is the indicator and there is a three month window in which it can be replaced. I just had my replacement on 9 Mar 09. Very easy and simple procedure done as an outpatient and then home.
If this is the first replacement you will probably not recognize the symptoms but being tired and short of breath is definitely one of them. I began with headaches, high blood pressure, tiredness, out of breath and became almost disfunctional. After eliminating some of the other issues with BP, Thyroid, etc., we did a pacer check and learned that my pacer had gone into ERI mode on 30 Jan 09. That is exactly 3 months into the 6 months that we were expecting it.
I now feel like new once again. So, my friend, please call your cardiologist for an appointment.

ERI mode

I'm so scared mine is going to go into that. My heart beats much faster than my ERI rate will beat and I'm afraid of passing out when it happens.

You know you're wired when...

You have rhythm.
