I found this on the Nintendo website.

WARNING - Radio Frequency Interference
The Wii console and Wii Remote can emit radio waves that can affect the operation of nearby electronics, including cardiac pacemakers.

Do not operate the Wii console or remote within 9 inches of a pacemaker.
If you have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, do not use the Wii console or remote without first consulting your doctor or the manufacturer of your medical device.

When you play you would have it more than 9 inches. However, you could ask pacemaker manufacturer to be sure. I was told by mine that there wouldn't be a problem. Enjoy!

Enjoy it

The Wii is just one more of many wireless devices we are exposed to daily without problem The power level is very low and nowhere near anything that would bother a pacemaker.

The warning posted by a particular manufacturer of a wireless device is more determined by the company lawyers than the engineers who would know.

So enjoy the fun with the grand daughters. I do with mine.

I have played on the Wii many times since having my pm fitted 8 weeks ago with no problems whatsoever. Anything where you can have lots of fun with your loved ones (and beat them at bowling)! has to be good for you. Enjoy!

If you feel bad, walk away, but many of us play on a Wii without any problems. The only thing I avoid is push ups and some of the yoga positions that would get my chest near the balance board.

Just so ya know...

It (your PM) doesn't give you an advantage either... trust me!!

Going crazy wondering...

I have been wondering if getting my kids the wii was a good idea for Christmas this year. My 6 year old daughter has had a pm since 9 months of age and I was sure if it was safe for her. She really has been feeling different lately because of her pm and I didn't want to make matters worse not allowing her to play it. Nintendo would not come out and say for sure if it was really ok and keeping the remote 9 inches away doesn't seem realistic in the hands of a small 6 year old. My next call is to her Dr. Thanks for the posts!!!

6 yr old

Hello---
This is quite a question. Due to the fact your daughter is 6 yrs old I would go by her doctor's advice. I take for granted you're speaking of a cardiologist. I wish you much luck, and good health for your daughter.
