Interference

Im not sure if this is under the right heading, but here is another question.

Transformer, not the movie or robot lol but the up on the pole.
How much interference does one of those puppies put out.

We are set up in a campground for a few months and parked right under one. We are only about 30 feet from the transformer at any time we are in the camper.

Shoud we pack it up and move or is it safe to sit here?

I wouldn't worry about it. The transformers are designed to keep the magnetic field contained. If you live in a newer neighborhood you probably walk within a few feet of transformers in those green boxes. They just don't look as impressive as the ones on the poles with all the wires.

In terms of interference it'll do absolutely nothing, even if you started hugging it then you would still not feel a thing, though this is not recommended for electrocution reasons. Its all about the star/delta windings in the tank that cancels it all out, and anything left over is cancelled by the steel tank casing. You get more EMF off a bare conductor (aka wire/cable) than the plant but even this is negligible until to you get really close.
I think cabg has a good point though - never ever camp (or live) in the shadow of any pole mounted equipment, just in case the worst happens. And be especially careful under overhead wires as the weight of those things hitting the deck when they go is enough to kill a cow or a horse.

You know you're wired when...
