Hello,pm friends I had my guidant s603 dual chamber pacemaker put in on feb18th 2009,because of 2to1 block caused low hr 30sn40s.I had my first ep check on may26th 2009, the ep said he made some changes to let the battery last n lowered ra output; uped ra sensitivity to 0.7smv to to prevent fairfield over sensing in ra;changed av to 80/180. understood some, but a little lost. seems like before these changes i felt alot better,meaning seems like now i feel alot of extra beats lasting 30 secs or so then it stops. feels like its in my throat wondering if this will go away with time or what, any suggestions.thanxs in advance.

definitely tell your doctor

In my experience, it takes a while to get used to the feeling of pacing. Eventually you won't notice it. However, I would definitely talk to your doctor, it may be pacer too high or set too sensitively...an easy adjustment.

If they reprogram it and you feel worse, call and ask to be checked again. I really think settings are more of an art than a science! It's not uncommon to take a few tries to get it right. Don't live with feeling back until your next appt
