I had an ICD implanted in October of 2008, had very little problems or pain, but now some 8 months the implanted area seems to be constant pain if lay on right side, its implanted on left side, and basicly a nagging pain most of the time, there is no swelling that i can tell, has anyone had this same problem, and if so any reasons for it, Thanks

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
activity levels..

I found that as I started to reach my regular activity levels, my ICD hurt more and more. It didn't really initially hurt, even immediately after the implant, like you it wasn't until months later that the nagging pain started. It's not bad, but a little annoying. After almost 2 years, it's down to just the occassional twinge or stab here and there that usually doesn't last long. My EP essentially said with my activity level, it will always be uncomfortable to some extent for as long as I have one.
