As i posted on here before, I had an ablation on jan 5th. It was my third one. well last week the doctor wanted me to stop taking my medication but i was unable to. Im glad i didnt because my heartrate would probably be any more crazy then it is right now. I am starting to once again get depressed because i am so sick and tired of my heartrate. I still can not do anything, I have been in bed since 2 months before my ablation. My rate keeps going fast and then dropping to the 70's. it only last maybe 30 seconds to a minute but its all day. And i know it takes time to heal from the ablation but the last to times it did this i was right back at square one. I call the doctor and he does not seem to worry about it. Im still weak and tired all day and dizzy. Im losing hope that i will ever be normal again. Sorry for the dreadful message. thanks for listening to my frusturation.

A second opinion
by Pookie - 2009-01-16 02:01:15
it may give you an answer or at least peace of mind if you go for a 2nd opinion...the way I look at it is: a new set of eyes might be able to help.
good luck.
Pookie
Thank you

Very much for your comment Pookie.
The only reason why i never went for a second opinion is because my doctor is a professor and is supposed to be in the top five in the country or something like that is what the nurses were telling me with my first procedure. And he teaches all around the world. So i figured i was in the right hands.

I'm sorry you're not feeling better! How frustrating for you.
Doesn't matter how good your doctor is, sometimes a second opinion will come up with a fresh approach. You've got nothing to lose!
Can they program the pm to prevent the crazy drops? You'd still have the fast rate but that might feel better than the ups and downs.
Thinking of you

Get the 2nd!

I suffered from atrial failure and a very well respected surgeon attempted to correct the problem with a surgery involving a thoracotomy. Long story short the surgery didnt work and he told me I would have to try to live with the atrial failure!
Well I couldnt accept that and sought out a fresh look from my EP. He was able to correct the problem with a different approach and at least for now I feel great!
SO GET THE SECOND THIRD or FORTH OPINION! Search out the answer to your condition because there is an answer out there for you.
I dont know where youre located but Id be happy to give you the name and number of the EP that helped me (just drop me a message). He isnt afraid to try a different approach and thats exactly what ended up working for me.
Good Luck with your quest & God Bless
You know you're wired when...

Hi Lisa.
I'm truly sorry to hear what you are going thru on a daily basis. I too have medical problems that have me pretty well house bound, no energy, dizzy all the time, near fainting, chronic pain, etc....the only thing I can offer you is support and know that things will get better. Don't ever give up. If you are not satisfied with your present doctor, then ask for a 2nd opinion...it is your right. Most importantly...give yourself some time.
But don't ever lose hope....I know that is hard to do, but try and keep a positive attitude and find humor anywhere you can...it helps!
I might not have any good suggestions or answers, but please know you are in the right spot to receive lots of support from me and others on this site.
Just my 2 cents worth: I'd be calling the doctor and asking him/her what his plan or goal is. Your tiredness and dizziness might just be the medications you are on, perhaps you could discuss this with the doctor.
I wish you the best of luck and please keep your chin up and know we are here for you.
Keep us posted.
Big hug.
Pookie
