Hi All
Need some advice please. Have had an ICD for 5 yrs now. Have recently purchased home cross trainer. It says it uses magnetic resistance .. there is nothing in the instructions to say unsafe but I know we have to be careful with around magnets. I have tried asking at local gym but got the impression they didn't have a clue. Also is it safe to use the following features .. pulse monitor (in the handles) and it scans for BMI .. can I use these functions? I am 36yrs, have mild dilated cardiomyopathy (left ventricle) and get lots of etopic beats. Can you rely on pulse monitor or is it best to take manually, as I don't know if the etopic beats will confuse things. I have know idea what my settings are but usual pulse is 90/65 ..any idea what HR I should be working out at? Sorry for all the questions, but a bit nervous to use it now it's been delivered ...
Thanks in anticipation .. Vikki

I use the treadmill, cross trainer and other gym equip all the time, have no problems, but I don't use the pulse monitors.
I get the guy at the gym to take my pulse rate for me, problem is it very probably goes up because he is gawjus!!!!!
I've also got a bp monitor, so if i'm on my own I sometimes use that to check what my pulse is doing.
Happy cross training! lol
HH
Thanks

Thanks for your comments ... nice to hear you have such a great incentive for raising your pulse, lol!
What make/model bp monitor do you use?

You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.
