Pain

Hi I started having pain in the right side of my neck the day after I came home from the hospital. Not an ache A Sharp pain!! I went to my EP and he checked my device and said all is well. That night The pain completely move to the left side except not only in my neck, but behind my left breast,in my back, down my arm I thought I was having a heart attack and I couldnt take a deep breath. I also have MS so the EP said I was fine and my Neurologist never called me back. I am so ready to go to the ER. Anyone else experienced this Help!!

I had something just like that. I went back in the hospital within 2 days because of the pain, mostly when I lay down. It turns out the doc that put in the pm put one of the leads thru my heart. I am not saying that is what you are experiencing but it could not hurt to check this out asap.

If you were completely out during the implant there is no telling what position they moved you into during the surgery. The problem could be as simple (but painful) as an irritated neck and/or shoulder. I had mine implanted with a local anesthetic so was wide awake. You wouldn't believe the things they tried to do to my body until they realized I was awake. Like some part of the team using my unsupported shoulder as a place to rest their elbow.

It could also be something serious. I only mention this in case they still can't find anything wrong.

I went back to the ER for the 2nd time and they said that when the leads fire they were causing pain against the inflamation and irritation inside the heart chamber and gave me a medication called tordol by mouth to take every 12 hours If once I finish the meds I still have the pain They will go back in and reposition the leads. Just know I am pain free for 3 days now and crossing my fingers. Thanks for all the great advice. It took 2 ER visits and one terrific ER DR to page my EP and get some Answers. Just so sad to have to work so hard to get help in such a pain filled time
