Ventricular Ablation

I have an ICD that required amiodarone to keep it from firing. To get off that drug I had a ventricular ablation which I assume in concept is the same as an atrial ablation. Was a 6 hour procedure, basically it was a "double" cathertization-right groin and left groin. I was "awake" but basically in a fog the whole time-not painful except for not moving. Next day had a NIPS test (they knock you out for that and test your device) and went home the next day. Felt and still feel great. Had mine done at University of Pennsylvania-highly recommend you search out someone real experienced and probably associated with a big university research hospital. Otherwise "not much to worry about." Ask your doctor though if YOUR condition presents any "special" issues.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
ablation maybe in my future

Hi Franko 1966,
I maybe facing ablation treatment too. I got a Pacemaker in June '09 and now all of these other electrical things have come up. What were you diagnosed with? I have been told SVT, and P Wave problems. amongest other things. The thing is I never felt my heart before, and then after the Pacemaker lots of problems, though they say it is not PMT Who did your ablation treatment? Do you feel better? I am nervous about more treatment. I would appreciate your input on the procedure, were you awake through it etc.
thanks Kat
