Pacer is out!!

Well, finally got the pacer taken out this morning. I am doing ok but sore. It is so wired without this thing in me for the first time in 11 years and I hope I can sleep better now that I don't have to feel my heartbeat every night.
My heart rate is now in the 70's rather than stay at 60 when I had the pacemaker, wow, I have so much energy for the first time in 11 years although I am still hurting but I have energy!

Congradulations!!!!

Know that it's going to take some time for your chest to stop hurting and heal again. I think you'll find it worth it!

It has been just over a month since I had mine removed and within two days I was feeling sooo much better; almost normal again. Now, a month later, I'm still plagued with discomfort from a blood clot as a result of my surgery. It will eventually go away. My chest still swells a little bit depending on how much I try to do. Life is looking bearable again. I think I can handle just about anything now. My "storm" has passed.

Good Luck!

My memory is fading...why did you have it removed?

And can I borrow some of your energy?? LOL

I am no longer hurting and back to my normal activities.
As for why I have it taken out, well, the easiest answer would be I don't need it and it didn't help me. My resting heart rate is between 57-59, and my low rate was set at 60, so I now see why I didn't feel any difference for the time I had the pacer. Would I have feel any difference if my low rate was set at 70, that I will never know as I am now pacer-less and no longer a heart patient.

You know you're wired when...
