TraceyE and I always seem to field these questions. :) I definitely agree with her. You want to ask your docs this one. I had my ICD while pregnant with my second child. I never received a shock during the pregnancy but I was considered high risk (Long QT syndrome) and was heavily monitored. One plus to being high risk is that you get a lot more ultra-sounds too. :) Every case is so different so a list of questions is probably a good idea too. Good luck to you!

This would be a question for your ob and cardiologist. I've never heard of it being a problem. The zap is localized and babies are very well insulated in there so my gut feeling is it would be ok. It would be far more dangerous for you to need it and not get it.
For what it's worth, several of us here have had perfectly normal pregnancies and healthy babies after we got our pm's. I felt a lot better after my doctors had a chat, it gave me piece of mind to hear my cardiologist tell my ob that he did not consider me high risk and I was to be treated like any other healthy pregnant woman.
