Hi,
I'm new to this site. I am having my biventricular pacemaker/defibrillator ICD changed on January 30th. The last time I was in the doctor's office the Tech said she was going to turn down some settings for the battery to last longer. Since then I have been having CHF symptoms. Any chance that is from the settings being changed?
Thanks much,
Fourreel

Hi,
I just replied twice now on comments, and both times at the end it says I have to be a member to leave a comment. Please tell me what I am doing wrong if you know? This is getting frustrated because it did it to me yesterday also.
Thanks much,

I have a St Jude pm/dfb system...and all times during the last number of years...any changes in system's rate of performance have always included Rep from St. Jude there at the Doctor of Electropysiolgy office. Frequently, it has been the same person form St Judes corp. who was there during the procedure of my replacement of the Defib/PM..unit......who monitors or makes the actual change on the system and as for the battery changes that she says she made to conserve the battery charge for the 30 plus days seems odd that she/they waited until this almost/last minute timing to replace your unit, which of course you will
have an entire new and updated device installed in your chest...Recomment it be placed under the chest muscle right where your existing unit laid. Also inquire if it is 3 lead system....and if so have them connect all 3 wires....Best wishes to you...the technology will make good differences from your previous unit..
