Help me!

It's been almost a year since getting my dual lead pace maker and for the most part it has been a good year. Only recently have the PVC"s really kicked it up a notch and also the tachy/brady syndrome that I was diagnosed with. I'm getting the old anxiety feelings again and not coping well. I will be getting a holter monitor on Monday to make sure all is well. I just don't know how to do this again. I'm crying and worrying now that there is something else wrong again. I could just use some moral support. Does anyone else have brady/tachy (whatever) and are you on any meds for this? Do they work without too many side effects???
Comments please.

I also have a dual lead pacemaker since March 31. It's amazing how much better I am. I take Metoprolol and they've doubled the dose right after surgery and then a month later because I had atril fib. Right now it seems good. I've had pvc for 35 years since I had a myocarditis when I was 30. The beta blocker also helps a lot with keeping them down as I've had a lot of problems when I wasn't on this drug. Talk to your EP physician or cardiologist. Also make sure your PM is tweaked properly to meet your needs. Good luck.

Yes, in answering your question I do suffer from Brady/Tacky. I have a dual lead pacemaker like you. The symptoms you mention PVCs are just that probably nothing more than symptoms that your pacemaker needs adjusting and tweeking. I have been down the road you are on and spent a lot of time crying about it. Then after insisting that my pacer be adjusted to meet my needs everything settled down and I got back to my life.
Telling you to stop worrying is pointless, but if you can try to change your way of thinking. Try as hard as you can to see the bright side. A very wise friend helped me a lot by pointing out to me that I am not dead yet and to get on with the the living part of me. I did and I am so glad that I listened to him.
I do take ziac to control the tackycardia and the PM takes care of the Bradycardia and the heartblock. Good luck to you and remember you are not alone.

Thanks for your comments. Today has been a great day and I only hope the tomorrows that follow will be great too. Pacergirl I went on your profile and you look like you lead a very exciting and active life. I must say that I think I'm a little jealous. Good for you! I spent 4 years of my life fretting and worrying about everything until I was finially diagnosed and now I just want to "get busy living" so when things start acting up again I do get anxious. I know that a postive attitude is the best thing and I agree with your friend that I'm not dead yet. I like the line get on with the living part of me. Perfect. Thank you so much for the response.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
