I went from a two lead PM to a three lead about 2 years ago. No problem. They have to add the third lead, and replace the PM with a three lead unit. Felt a lot better after.

i have a bi ventricular pacemaker, first surgery nov 2005 scheduled for 2nd pacemaker and lead replacement 1/22/09 I chave one of the recalled leads from medtronice...I have complete LBBB and the pacer made a huge difference ! now since I am paced 100 % of the time my battery is at its end hence 2nd surgery in 3 yrs, I am mostly freaked out by the lead change... they leave the old ones in so I can just imagine all these wires in my chest... right now I can feel the lv lead occasionally in my chest, its a pain and a metal taste in my throat... but with all the problems I still know I feel much better than before... good luck!
You know you're wired when...

The three lead system you are referring to comes as either a pacemaker or defibrillator depending on patients indications. Along with cardiac rhythm and rate controll it resyncronizes the left and right ventricules of the heart and reduces conjestive heart failure.
