Heart Disease?
by SMITTY - 2011-12-02 06:12:47
Hello Branck57,
Your question about heart disease comes up here from time to time. To me there is heart disease and then there is heart disease. Webster's dictionary defines heart disease as "an abnormal condition of the heart or of the heart and circulation." So I take that to mean if I have a heart problem that requires treatment I have heart disease.
To answer your question I agree with Janetinak, the answer is yes, However if it were me I would check yes and right beside that put (Pacemaker). Some people look upon a PM as serious heart problems and some don't, but if you don't tell the truth you could be paying for insurance only to find out that you are not covered when you needed it most.
Good luck

I have an ICD which is both a pacer/defib. I have no problems with mine and it has saved my life.
I guess I would answer yes

to the question. Even tho I do not feel I have a "heart disease" in the classical sense of the plumbing problems as some docs say of CAD & MI's, etc. I do have Afib with ablation & a PM so I have a heart condition, past/present & treated. Hope this helps.
