The fiber optics is less likely to cause interference than the normal wired circuits since the signals are carried by a light beam inside a piece of fiber.
As for the effect on phone checks it depends on the bandwidth of the telephone part of the installation. You could call Medtronics and ask if you could send a test checkup to them or just wait til the next scheduled time. The worse it can do is fail to send the information. It won't affect your pacer operation.
