disability with PM or ICD

I don't think having an ICD or PM creates a disability situation by itself. Rather a disability situation is probably created because of the reason(s) you have a PM or ICD. Soc Sec disability is not an even road for travel, there are issues of age, past work experience, state you live in and of course, your actual medical condition among other things.

The short answer though to your question is: yes.

disability with PM and or ICD

The irony of this is: Zombie probably painted a rosy picture regarding disability. In Pennsylvania, after filing the proper forms it took six months to be rejected for disability and then took 13 months to get heard at the Appeal stage. You really need to have a "heart to heart" conversation about your health situation and then probably a consult with a lawyer (ugh!). The ejection fraction is probably a good baseline though; below 30% over 60 years, chances good, above 35% under 60, chances for disability not so good. YMMV. Ultimately, it comes down to what choices do you really have?
