Long story short...

Hello all-
Well to start, i'll give you a short background. For about 8 years I have been having cardiac chest pain and abnormal rhythms (SVT, occ brady, a fib once). At that time, I had a huge workup with multiple tests including an angiogram-which was negative. As the years passed, the rhythm problems got worse. I had 2 ablations, both of which eventually failed. Then earlier this year in May I was having more side effects from the meds I was on, so we tried a SA node modification. Prior to that, I was in our local hospital here (where I work!) for 6days with chest pain that would not resolve without me staying on oxygen and getting morphine. I then went up to the big teaching hospital for the SA node modification. They were unable to complete this, so the next day I had a pacemaker implanted. A month later they ablated my AV node. So things have gone well since then until last monday... I went to the clinic for my pacer check and when they lowered the pacer rate to check my intrinsic rhythm, I started having crushing chest pain. After two hours in the office on oxygen without relief I was direct admitted to the hospital (the big teaching one). While there they did a ton of tests, and two nuclear med sestamibi scans (one at pain and one without). When they got the results back they said that the "pain" one showed some ischemia so then they freaked and did a bunch of cardiac interventions (labs, meds, heparin drip, etc). The next morning my labs and EKGs checked out ok, so they said that because of the results of the test I have a spasm in some cardiac vessel, either micro or macro. I have been waiting eight years to find out what the pain is from! So apparently the rate problem and the pain problem were not together like they had thought all this time. I am now on meds especially for the spasm, and on the 26th I am going to see a Dr that specializes in microvessel cardiac issues in women (she is new to my clinic and has done research studies on this-I am pretty excited to see her!). Has anyone out there had anything like this-cardiac chest pain that does not alter your EKG or cardiac labs? If so, how did you do on the meds and what are you taking? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
