Hi Maureen,
Welcome to the club. I have apparently about the same heart problems, hearts fine, no blocks, etc, just something electrical went wrong (Syncope), flatlined 17 seconds also, and had to have pacemaker put in March 26th, 2008. Although I haven't had any dizzy problems or headaches since about a day after, I have understood from this site that there are many variable adjustments that can be made to the pms and I would suggest that your husband might want to bug the cardialigist or EP to read the pacer and see if they can't make adjustments to it to make it much better for him. By now I would think he should be feeling fine if it were adjusted right.
Hope this helps and I bet soon others will be able to tell you more specifically what might be done.

Ask about VVS.

by bowlrbob - 2008-04-30 06:04:17

It cound be VVS or VasoVagal Syncope. I had almost the same symtoms when I had emergency surgery. After i was ok for a while but then blacked out again. I was diagnosed with VVS. The Ep then turned on the rate drop response on my PM and i have been just great for 2 years now. I even forget i have a PM. Bowlrbob

I also had these symptoms, went back to doc we agreed that I should change my medications, I was still on pretty large doses so he had to reduced the milligrams, we played with meds for awhile, and the decrease made the difference. Ask your doc if you can try to reduce or increase what ever your husband may need made o big difference, I had the same symptoms as he. msphil God Bless

i had and still have dizzyness everyday and get headaches frequently. i have been having these for the past 5yrs.i had my pacemaker put in on the 13 april for the same thing heathy heart just a heart rate that drops.i hoped that my illness would go away when i got my pacemaker but it didnt and i feel hopeless too. i have been to my doctors numerous amounts of times and they did diagnose neurocardio syncope back in 2003. maybe guy is having similer problems?? it causes dizzeness headaches etc i know its to much info but it may help. also could be the settings on the pacemaker they turned down the sensitivity on mine a little and it has helped a bit as it was picking up things it didnt need to?? if you do get answers please let me know im looking for it too
lots of love to you both
