Electric shock...

Hi,

Today, while moving an adjustable light I received a little electrical shock. First one since the implant of my pacemaker. I don't think it did anything to me.... but it got me thinking. What if I received a big shock?

Anyone experience a shock and problems? I am a "newbie" so I am clueless. My "owners manual" doesn't cover weird things like this!

Thanks in advance.

I had a large fan shock me once. Actually felt it through my whole body. Was checked immediatley after the incident and all was fine. Scary more than anything!

Swedeheart, I have had six electric shocks since my PM. was fitted. I am a second-rate amateur handy man.

I have been holding wires when my 'helpful' buddy switched on the power. This has happened on more than occasion.
I was very worried when it first happened, and contacted my EP.(technician).
He asked me what voltage system I was working on when it happened. I explained that I was in the USA at the time, and it was110 Volts. He said that if I had no problems immediately after the shock, then I was lucky. When I returned to Ireland and had my routine checkup, There was no damage to the leads or the PM.
I don't recommend it, but hasn't hurt me (yet).
Stay lucky,
John

Well I am also kinda new with my pacemaker I got mine in December 07. I have noticed that I get little shocks more often then I did before I got my pacemaker. But I have not noticed any problems and my doctor just seemed to like i was being goofy when I told him . I hope you are doing well . Best of Luck.

SHOCKS

I worked in the computer industry and years ago they used valves and I often got shock of 115 volts to 240 volts even once or twice at 415 volts. To fix the damn things you had to work with live voltages. I often think the sheer number of shocks I had whilst working damaged the electrical pathways in my heart and led to me having a pacemaker fitted at 61. I avoid shocks like the plague now and wear gloves if im working with high voltage above 40 volts.
